Finding time for self-care during the lead up to Christmas can be tricky, especially between work, social commitments and completing your shopping on time.

To support those who are time-poor this festive season, beauty and wellness booking app, MINDBODY, has put together its list of five London-based beauty treatments to fit into a lunch hour, so you can get party ready and still have time to get the wrapping done.

1. For Party Ready Lashes: The London Dolls

The Lowdown: For the spontaneous after work drinks in the lead up to Christmas, one way of instantly looking like you’ve got it together are lash extensions. If you’re after the full wow-factor, then head to The London Dolls on Mare Street.

A half set of flash lash extensions at The London Dolls will take just 35 minutes, totally transforming your lashes within your lunch break, with time to spare. In this treatment, false lashes are individually glued to your natural lashes, creating a full, wispy and party-ready look.

2. For a Bouncy Blow-Dry: DryBy

The Lowdown: For a good hair day without fail, get a blow-dry booked in. After all, if your hair is looking fabulous, nothing else matters, right? Plus, a brilliant blow-dry means you’re party ready in an instant.

A classic blow-dry at DryBy in Marylebone takes around 40 minutes and the signature service includes a hair wash, mini head massage, and hairstyling from the salon’s extensive trend menu. If you have more time to spare, the salon’s luxury blow dry uses pure plant extracts to create a special blow dry that balances, soothes, revives and rejuvenates the hair, taking around an hour.

3. For a Sunkissed Tan: West One MYB

The Lowdown: Looking for a winter-sun kissed glow to compliment your new party outfit? West One MYB can offers a St Tropez spray tan in just 30 minutes. All you’ll need to do is exfoliate the evening before your treatment, wear dark coloured clothing and underwear, and the therapist will do the rest. 

Your tan will be expertly applied, so there’ll be no streaks, and you’ll look like you’ve just come back from getting some winter sun. The salon offers two types of St Tropez tan: the cassic Mist (30 minutes), for a natural looking tan that lasts for days, and the Express Mist (30 minutes), the most advanced formula with three shades in one. You control the depth of your tan and the longer you don’t wash the top coat off, the darker your tan will go.

4. For Beautifully Groomed Brows: Kensington SkinCare Beauty and MediSpa Clinic.

The Lowdown: The great thing about getting your brows done is that the treatment doesn’t need applying on the day of an event, and can be done weeks prior to the big Christmas party.

To achieve beautifully shaped and tinted brows in as little as 30 minutes, head to Kensington SkinCare Beauty and MediSpa Clinic. The salon has several brow treatments available, including an eyebrow tint (15 minutes) threading (15 minutes) and waxing (15 minutes), but we recommend the eyebrow shape and tint treatment. Taking just 30 minutes, your brows will be plucked and shaped by an expert therapist, then tinted to give the illusion of thicker and fuller brows.

5. For Healthy, Shiny and Strong Hair: Studio Hair and Beauty

The Lowdown: Whilst hair styling tools such as curlers and straighteners help us achieve the perfect party hairstyle, they can eventually take their toll on our locks. To give your hair a little TLC and to avoid any permanent heat damage, a rescue treatment is definitely needed.

Studio Hair and Beauty in Fitzrovia has an excellent treatment that restores your hair back to full health. Their express hair rescue treatment includes a high-strength conditioning treatment to the hair being applied and left on the hair for around 10 minutes, conditioning each strand from root to tip. You can then opt to have your hair blow-dried so it’s even more party-ready.
