About Time: You Pampered at Errol DouglasBy Angelica Malin
I met Errol Douglas when I was 22. He was introduced to me as the ‘King of Hair’ and I thought silently to myself, that if I could ever be introduced as the King of anything, I’ve done well at life. But the title sits rightly on his head; an award-winning hair stylist, he was presented with an MBE by the Queen in 2008 for services to hairdressing and has run his own salon in Belgravia since 1998. He’s won hundreds of awards, including the Evening Standard’s London Lifestyle Award for London Hairdressing Salon of the Year. If that’s not enough, he’s also a serious charmer and his hair looks have graced the catwalks of London, New York and Paris Fashion Week. I popped down to the famous salon to find out what it’s all about…
Errol Douglas Salon: The Lowdown
The salon unique in that it is accredited with International Technical Excellence; they specialise in being able to treat all kinds of hair, from European hair to Afro hair, for both men and women. What’s more, it’s got a fantastic vibe – and with an actual menu (yes a menu) of food and drink to choose from, you’ll forget you’re in a salon at all. Think Carrot Cleanser juices with carrot, cucumber and fresh ginger, and Goats Cheese Salads.
Errol Douglas Salon: The Treatments
If you’re looking for super sleek hair, they offer a fantastic Nanokeratin System to give a cashmere softness and shine to your hair. It puts amino acids back into the hair – making it stronger, shinier, and more hydrated. They also have hair extension services and fantastic treatments if your hair needs a little boost, such as Moroccan Oil and Protein treatments – see the full list here.
Errol Douglas Salon: The Colouring
Colour is real focus at Errol Douglas; they use working in the fashion industry as a spring board for ideas on colour, and do a range of colour treatments, from the bold to the subtle. You can book a complimentary consultation for colour in advance – see more here. If you’ve got colour that’s gone a little, well, wrong, then you can try the Colour Correction system with Revlon products – they oxidise the hair colour with a gel based formula for a non-aggressive colour lift. Joy.
Errol Douglas Salon: The Service
The service cannot be beaten at Errol Douglas; I love how the staff all have their own specialities, and my Blow Dry by their Blow Dry expert was world class. The service is genuine, attentive and honest – and you feel you’re in very safe hands. Totally worth the money.
Prices from £65 for a cut and blow dry with a stylist – for more information and to book, see here.
