Spa breaks come in all shapes and sizes; when I say ‘Hammersmith’, you may not instantly think ‘pamper time’. But there’s a secret spot in Shepherds Bush that is designed for the weary traveller and time-poor Londoner alike. It’s called K Spa, within the 4* K West Hotel, and it’s rather lovely. If you’re looking for a spa break stone’s throw from town, here’s what you need to know:

K-Spa: The Vibe Spa Breaks

The spa is an unexpected place of tranquillity. Miles away from the hustle and bustle of the streets above, with an urban cave, freshly-brewed herbal tea and everything from piloxing to hypnotherapy, the spa will surprise you. The staff are friendly and attentive, it’s a discreet kind of spa, made for the Londoner who wants a little pamper time away from it all.

K-Spa: The Facilities Spa Breaks

The K-Spa is perfectly kitted out for the traveller that wants it all, in one place. There is a Wet Spa with a hydrotherapy pool, snow room, sauna, steam rooms and relaxation area. The snow room is quite exciting; apparently the change between huge heat and a shocking arctic blast gets your circulation pumping and boosts your immune system. There’s a warm, bubbling hydrotherapy pool with twinkling overhead lights, and a dry floatation tank, too. For after your treatment, there’s a fantastic sleep sanctuary to relax in, with dark leather walls, soft leather beds, large cushioned headphones and a soothing water feature. Perfection.

K-Spa: The Price Spa Breaks

Treatments don’t come cheap (starting at £70), but when you book any holistic spa treatment, you get complimentary spa access – which means your buck goes a bit further. For £25 per person per day, hotel guests benefit from full access to spa, and if you arrive from 8pm during weekdays the charge is just £10 per person.

K-Spa: The Treatments Spa Breaks

There are six lovely treatment rooms, which use products such as Russie BlancheAromatherapy Associates and Priori Coffee Berry. The most popular treatment is the Thai massage, which take place in the Sun Meadow room, which has oriental-inspired sunken double beds, tropical wallpaper and light therapy to banish all your post-summer blues. You can also have a candle-lit massage, which does sound rather romantic, we must say.

Treatments start at £70, for more information and to book, see here.
