5 of the Best: Mince Pie Cocktails in LondonBy Alicia Grimshaw
Mince pies are a festive staple that we can’t seem to get enough of. These buttery, deep-filled, sugar-topped doughy bad boys are a Christmas must. Enjoy straight out of the packet, or serve with blob of brandy cream, or skip all the above and just drink ’em. In beer. In cocktails. In martinis. The possibilities are endless. Here’s our guide to the best mince pie drinks in London this Christmas:
Drink: Mince Pie Martini (£10)
The Lowdown: A mince pie a day keeps the doctor away, or so we’re told. The Little Blue Door has created two new festive serves: a Mince Pie Martini served with mini mince pies and an Eggnog Whiskey Flip with grated nutmeg. The Mince Pie Martini packs all the classic flavours of spiced, fruity mincemeat into a perfect festive party tipple.

The Lowdown: Cocktail wizard Rich Woods at Duck & Waffle, has created a brand new, fun and innovative menu of 12 festive inspired cocktails, using seasonal ingredients in partnership with William Grant & Sons and Bacardi. The Mince Pie-PA is a hearty spiced brew featuring a merry mix of flavours with notes of cranberries, dates, cinnamon and a hint of sweet caramel, whilst the Thierry’s Chocolate Orange Stout is buttery and smooth with subtle citrus notes, providing the prefect boozy take on your favourite Yuletide treat.

The Lowdown: The talented bar staff at Foxlow have created their bespoke Mince Pie Liqueur that gives the classic Negroni a Christmas makeover. Aptly named Christmas Negroni, this deliciously different combination of Campari, Beefeater Gin and Mince Pie Liquer brings a festive sweetness to this traditionally bitter cocktail. One of the best mince pie drinks in London, for sure.
