The Lowdown: Friends of Ours is a little independent cafe that lives up to the hype. This laid-back, antipodean-style café located a stones throw from Old Street Station is worth the queue at the weekend. They pride themselves on providing great tasting coffee, awesome brunches and freshly-prepared cakes and other sweet bites. Come and see brunch beauty in all its glory.

Eat and Drink: Their baristas are tip-top and whip up delicious non-dairy coffee. Sack off the soya, and go straight for the oat milk latte – so frothy. One of the best oat milk coffee in London, for sure. The team have just launched a new brunch menu, and we think it’s their best one yet. We’re never one to turn town a mid-morning fried chicken bao.

2. For Locals: The Coffee Jar, Camden

Top 10: London's Best Oat Milk Coffees, oat milk coffee in london, oat milk coffees in London, oat milk latte, oat milk lattes in london, vegan coffee, vegan lattes, vegan lattes in london, coconut coffee london, oat milk coffee london

The Lowdown: We’re regulars at this North London hangout (conveniently located round the corner from our office). London coffee shops don’t come much better than this. Established in 2013, The Coffee Jar is Camden’s answer to expertly made caffeine creations. The beans are sourced from Monmouth, with guest roasters also making an appearance from week to week. Prime time is in the morning when there’s a queue out the door – it doesn’t matter how busy the Coffee Jar becomes, you’ll always end up with a cracker of a coffee.

Eat and Drink: Bold shout – but The Coffee Jar is home to the best coffee in Camden. There, we said it. Try their oat milk iced latte, it’s too good to miss, and grab a slice of their banana bread. Served toasted with a thick layer of butter. Dreams.

Top 10: London's Best Oat Milk Coffees, oat milk coffee in london, oat milk coffees in London, oat milk latte, oat milk lattes in london, vegan coffee, vegan lattes, vegan lattes in london, coconut coffee london, oat milk coffee london

The Lowdown: The Coffee Works Project is a freelancer’s haven, and a hit with the pushchair brigade on weekends. Like every Aussie owned cafe, they take their beens very seriously. When the sun hits, their back garden patio is absolute bliss. This joint gets busy, fast. But what do you expect when they’re flogging some of the finest coffee in Angel.

Eat and Drink: It’s the usual coffee shop fare – think sandwiches, cakes and other sweet nibbles. They make fresh salads which rotate daily, and some pretty giant cookies too. Come for the coffee, but stay for their granola bars. Which, by the way, are really good.

Top 10: London's Best Oat Milk Coffees, oat milk coffee in london, oat milk coffees in London, oat milk latte, oat milk lattes in london, vegan coffee, vegan lattes, vegan lattes in london, coconut coffee london, oat milk coffee london

The Lowdown: Earl’s Court is famous for many things; namely that it’s the District Line’s spaghetti junction, and it hosts a lot of conferences. One thing it isn’t too known for, however, is good coffee. Over Under opened a couple of months ago – and it’s seriously upped the coffee game in West London. When you’re claiming to produce the perfect cup of coffee, you need the best beans and Over Under have teamed up with Brixton’s Assembly Coffee in order to do just that.

Eat and Drink: For a small cafe the food at Over Under certainly packs a punch. It’s all made by Chef Connie Grossman who draws inspiration from her previous experience working for Chez Panisse in California, Two Hands in New York and Ottolenghi in London. Try the classic brunch staple avocado on toast, or for something sweet – the banana bread hits all the right notes.

Top 10: London's Best Oat Milk Coffees, oat milk coffee in london, oat milk coffees in London, oat milk latte, oat milk lattes in london, vegan coffee, vegan lattes, vegan lattes in london, coconut coffee london, oat milk coffee london

The Lowdown: A self-proclaimed  ‘no nonsense’ coffee bar owned by Kiwi siblings Jonathan and Carole. A serious contender for the tastiest coffee in Clerkenwell, where the competition is stiff. The coffee may be ‘no muss, no fuss’, but it is also served by incredibly welcoming staff in a gorgeous botanical shop on Rosebery Avenue. Most importantly, their Square Mile coffee is amazing – especially when it’s served with oat milk.

Eat and Drink: Sticking to their roots, the chaps create Kiwi style, espresso based drinks with layered oat milk (there’s also other dairy-free milks too). This is the perfect place to grab your caffeine fix come morning, noon and night. There’s no seating, so order a coffee and a slice of the good stuff and enjoy in the nearby Spa Fields Park. Nice one.

There’s so much plant-powered goodness going on at this North London hangout – and plenty of oat milk coffees to sip.

Food and Drinks: They sell vegan croissants. Need we say more? Take your meat-free pals and eat everything from vegan cookies to crispy aubergine wraps, and hearty veggie salads and wraps. These guys are changing the vegan foodie game, and if you haven’t checked them out – you definitely should.

Each with a minimalistic look, read: white walls, low lighting and chalkboards. These guys specialise in carefully sourced, single origin coffees. And they totally knock their oat milk lattes out of the park.

Food and Drink: Their avocado on toast is the stuff of legends – chunky avocado with a big hit of lemon spread across sourdough and sprinkled with colourful herbs. For sweet treats, there’s pastries, oat cookies, and they also stock Crosstown doughnuts. Go for the peanut butter jelly doughnut and thank us later.

This cafe is all about life’s simple pleasures: banging coffee, homemade cakes and friendly service. Their dairy-free coffees are made using either soya, almond or oat milk which steams beautifully.

Eat and Drink: They sell outrageously delicious brownies from The Little Brownie Kitchen SW14 – we’re talking about cookie dough, and salted caramel white chocolate. These brownies are the bomb diggity. If the weather is hot, it’s hard to resist one of their iced coffee creations.

Just a proper decent coffee shop.

Eat and Drink: As well as their oat milk numbers (try their latte), there’s plenty of vegan bakes and gluten-free beauties. The breakfast muffins are a revelation, and their coconut toast is nutty and tasty. Oh, and their Kevin bacon sandwiches are pretty epic.

Top 10: London's Best Oat Milk Coffees, oat milk coffee in london, oat milk coffees in London, oat milk latte, oat milk lattes in london, vegan coffee, vegan lattes, vegan lattes in london, coconut coffee london, oat milk coffee london

The Lowdown: We should be brand ambassadors for Melrose & Morgan, we pretty much live in their Primrose Hill branch. Our Monday morning doesn’t start until we’ve met and ordered an oat milk cappuccino from the M&M gang. Their oat milk beauties are deliciously different to the dairy variety, and I’d really recommend you trying one out. Their coffee is best enjoyed with their almond croissant; nutty almond paste encased in layers upon layers of buttery, flaky pastry and topped with almonds. It’s the best way to kick off the week.

Eat and Drink: Their almond croissants are seriously good. In fact, all their freshly baked items are the stuff of dreams – we love their gluten-free brownie and raw cheesecake. If you’re looking for something savoury, their lunchtime salads are delicious. Don’t miss their coffee, too – with a choice of Bonsoy or Oatly, you can get the perfect dairy-free cappuccino here.
