LEON may be the mavericks of healthy lunchtime eats, but the naturally fast food brand have recently pivoted into new territories with the launch of their organic coffee range.

The coffee is available in Blonde Roast (200g ground), with notes of smooth caramel and hints of citrus, and Dark Roast (200g whole bean and ground) with a full, well-balanced flavour with spicy undertones. LEON coffee connoisseurs take note, the Dark Roast coffee bags are the same flavour, you’ll know and love as found served in the LEON restaurants. The range uses 100% Arabica beans from Peru and Honduras, with the bags priced at £4 in Sainsbury’s.

Reinforcing LEON’s mission to help the planet whilst offering great quality coffee, each LEON coffee bag purchased will help save 4m2 of rainforest in Tanzania, in partnership with the World Land Trust. This ecologically significant land protects the critically endangered Rondo Bushbaby’s habitat – listed as one of the world’s 25 most endangered primates, with an average weight of about half a bag of coffee (100g) – is threatened by deforestation and less sustainable commercial agriculture forms.

The triple-certified coffee is Fairtrade, which guarantees a fairer price for farmers, is organic, which means it’s better for you and for the planet, and it supports the World Land Trust. Unlike most coffee brands on the market, LEON coffee packaging is fully recyclable by returning it to larger Sainsbury’s stores.
