1. For a Women in Wine Event: The Pilgrm

What: To celebrate International Women’s Day, The Pilgrm will be marking the occasion with a Women in Wine charity event on Thursday 7th March.

The Event: The night will be hosted by two influential women in the London wine scene – renowned food and wine authority and The Guardian’s wine writer, Fiona Beckett, and VinaLupa founder, Emily Harman – The Pilgrm’s very own sommelier. The event includes a guided curated wine tasting, featuring accessible wines produced by female winemakers. Following the tasting, Fiona and Emily will be joined by guest speaker Christina Rasmussen: writer, educator and recently turned winemaker, for an interactive discussion on the pivotal role of women in the wine industry. To complement the wines, The Pilgrm will serve attendees a charcuterie selection by Tempus, alongside cheeses from their neighbours, The Cheese Bar, bread from Bread Factory and olives.

2. For a Month-Long Celebration: Kindred

What: Kindred is celebrating International Women’s Month with a whole host of incredible events to spotlight and showcase amazing women.

The Event: On Monday 4th March, Kindred will once again be partnering with the Nourish Hub for a Community Dinner, specifically for women and non-binary folk, in celebration of IWD. The dinner is, as ever, free to attend with an option to donate to the charity afterwards. On Friday 8th March, Kindred has partnered with Girls I Rate and Notion Magazine to present ‘Step In’, a party night for the Amapiano lovers, vibe bringers and steppers celebrating the most exciting rising stars on the Amapiano scene. Wednesday 20th March will see a Cheese and Wine Club International Women’s Day Special take place with co-founder of West London-based Basket Press Wines, Zainab Majerikova, and wrapping up the schedule of events on Thursday 21st March – Voices in Power – a night full of female poets and spoken word artists touching on an encyclopaedia of subjects.

3. For a Collaborative Dinner: Pahli Hill Bhandra Bhai x Romy Gill

What: For International Women’s Day, Pahli Hill Bhandra Bhai’s Head Chef Avi and Romy Gill have come together to prepare a feast which celebrates their Indian cultural heritage. The set menu (£65pp) will be a flavour-packed partnership between their two cooking styles.

The Event: The evening is a celebration of women in the hospitality industry and mothers and grandmothers who have passed on their recipes throughout generations. Highlights of the menu include: Punjabi samosa chat, mint & tamarind chutney and fresh pomegranate; Wild seabass wrapped in banana leaves, mustard paste, chilli and garlic; and Lamb and morel yakhni, fennel seeds, black cardamom, yoghurt and bay.

4. For Live Music: Crazy Coqs

What: This International Women’s Day, guests of Crazy Coqs  will be able to enjoy a live performance from singer Jo Harrop at 7pm, or a show from saxophonist Tori Freestone and pianist Alcyona Mick from 9.15pm.

The Event: Jo Harrop, hailed as one of the brightest new jazz starts, will be performing songs from her catalogue of albums. Jo will also be unveiling songs from her highly-anticipated new studio album. Saxophonist/flautist Tori Freestone and pianist Alcyona Mick are currently creating a stir on the UK jazz scene, and will be presenting music from their new critically acclaimed album ‘Make One Little Room an Everywhere.’

5. For a Night of Stand-Up Comedy: The Moniker x The Comedy Store

What: Get together for a night of top-quality comedy with a star-studded, all-female line-up this International Women’s Day (Friday 8th March, 6pm) at city bar, The Moniker by Drake & Morgan.

The Event: Joining forces with the UK’s legendary comedy house, The Comedy Store, the line-up includes Thanyia Moore (Mock The Week, Moore Laughter and winner of the 2017 Funny Women Awards), Helen Bauer (Live at the Apollo, BBC Presents) and Ria Lina (Have I Got News For You), promising an hour-long show filled with humour, camaraderie and empowerment celebrating leading ladies in the comedy world.
