Spooky season is finally here, which means one thing – it’s time for some of London’s best events of the year. Every Halloween more and more bars and restaurants seem to go all out for the scariest time of year, and we can’t get enough. Luckily for you, we’ve rounded up the best spook-tacular events happening this month in the capital (the amount of bad puns may scare you too if we’re honest). Anyway, take a look and get BOOking.
1. For Burlesque: The Thin White Duke
What: The Thin White Duke will be celebrating the darkening of days with a limited-edition series of Fin-De-Siecle Salons.
The Event: Upon admission to the bar (granted only by a gilded key), attendees will be immersed into a world of 19th-Century wonder where an enchanting burlesque dancer will welcome them in a plume of feathers and fabulousness for a night of entertainment and revelry.
Sip on licentious libations inspired by Soho’s debauched past created by the cocktail wizard, Dav Eames. Serves include Wildean ‘Pitcher of Dorian Gray’, Bowie’s ‘Ashes to Ashes’ and the treacherous ‘Sparkling Cyanide’ alongside tastings of Devil’s Botany’s handcrafted absinthes to raise the spirits.

2. For a Haunted House Party: Louche Soho
What: On Saturday 29th October ghosts of Soho’s raucous past will return to haunt the walls of Louche for a night of spooktacular surprises.
The event: The three-storey townhouse will be filled with spooky goings on and surprises around every corner including pulse-racing performances from House of Burlesque dancers set to a soundtrack of vinyl spun by DJ Andy Smith downstairs and DJ Tony Coote upstairs. Head there before 6pm for 2-4-1 cocktails.

3. For Spooktacular Parties: Record Bars
What: This Halloween, Records Bars – Eastcheap Records, Old St Records, Venn St Records and Northcote Records – will be bringing the circus to town. On Saturday 29th October, guests will be welcomed into their house of fun – a weird and wonderful world with everything from creepy cocktails to killer clown bartenders.
The event: Kicking off at Eastcheap Records is the GoldBeat Band, who will be raising adrenaline levels with upbeat covers of classic hits and modern chart-toppers. Meanwhile, at Old Street Records the FunkChan Band are taking over with upbeat funk, soul & RnB tunes. In South London, Music Marmalade will be taking to the stage at Northcote Records from 9-11.30pm and at Venn Street Records, there’ll be a late-night set from FTN Collective with party tunes destined to even bring the zombies alive.

4. For a Late Night Knees-Up: Sky Garden
What: This year, Sky Garden’s annual Halloween party is back and set to be bigger and better than ever before. Taking place on Friday 28th October from 8pm until 12:30am, venture 35 floors up for hauntingly sky-high views of London and a spooktacular soirée filled with live music, dancing and devilishly good cocktails at one of the city’s most iconic venues.
The Event: As ever, ghoulish garms are encouraged so be sure to don your freakiest outfit for the occasion as the incredible live band, curated by legendary ALR Music, work their magic and light up the dancefloor. Then, get the paranormal party started as Sky Garden’s late-night DJ takes to the decks carrying dance anthems and spine-tingling tunes into the dead of the night.

5. For a Fancy Dress Party: RILLA x Peckham Levels
What:One of London’s most eclectic and exciting club nights RILLA is throwing its 8th birthday party at Peckham Level’s new venue 450. Creating another memorable bash, this one is Halloween-themed too so sure to be scarily amazing.
The Event: There will be a strict no fancy dress no entry policy with this year’s theme being movies, music and memes or RILLA’s signature colour yellow. Expect immaculate vibes with a prize for the best dressed, plus a shot on entry for the first arrivals. Music-wise, there’ll be a mix of R&B, hip hop, dancehall and afrobeat spun by DJs, God Bless Chennessy, Chris K, Donch, Vectra & CVSS.

6. For Parties, Pumpkins and a Pub Quiz: Big Penny Social
What: Big Penny Social (formerly Truman’s Social Club) is hosting a series of Halloween-themed events. We’re talking about a pumpkin carving competition, a pub quiz, live music, and tasty treats.
The Event: On 26th October, guests are invited to The Big Halloween Pub Quiz with Lou Barron (there’s a . a £100 bar tab up for grabs). On Friday 28th October, Big Penny Social Club will be hosting a Halloween Special with Halloween cocktails alongside food and drink specials available the whole day. There will be a pumpkin carving competition with each completed pumpkin handed back to the bar receiving a free pint of Big Penny Beer as well as being entered into a £100 bar tab competition. From 7pm – 1am there will be a pumping DJ set welcoming in the weekend’s Halloween celebrations.

7. For a Halloween Weekender: The Little Door & Co
What: All four venues from The Little Door & Co (The Little Scarlet Door, Little Yellow Door, The Little Orange Door, The Little Blue Door) are making Halloween a weekend to remember with a series of special themed parties to celebrate in style from Wednesday 26th– Saturday 29th October.
The Event: Undergoing a spooky makeover, the house party-inspired bars in Soho, Fulham, Notting Hill and Clapham will be adorned with creepy delights, frighteningly good cocktails, devilish DJ’s and plenty of spooky surprises to ensure a night(mare) to remember.
Dance to musical hits of the past at Clapham’s The Little Orange Door for Ghosts of the 90’s or take things stateside with a Haunted Hollywood-themed party taking place at The Little Blue Door in Fulham. It’s all about Stranger Things at Notting Hill’s The Little Yellow Door, and make sure to watch your back while partying late into the night at Soho’s The Little Scarlet Door as there’s rumoured to be a Murder on the (light up) Dancefloor.

8. For a Ghostly Tour: The Lane
What: One of the world’s most haunted theatres, Theatre Royal Drury Lane (The Lane) is set to host a series of late-night Halloween Theatre Tours this October, taking guests on a whistle-stop tour of ghostly theatrical history across this iconic London landmark.
The Event: Taking place from 24th-31st October, The Theatre Royal Drury Lane Halloween Tour is the ultimate spooky experience, which unearths hidden tales, scandals, conspiracy and ghost stories in the heart of London’s Covent Garden, there may even be sightings of the theatre’s most famous ghost, The Man in Grey…

9. For Pumpkin Carving: Plaquemine Lock
What: Plaquemine Lock, Islington’s Louisiana-inspired pub, will bring the hoodoo to Halloween this October, transforming the saloon with spooky decorations and a whole lotta pumpkins.
The Event: Pbunters are invited to come and carve a pumpkin to add to the eye-catching display, and the best carver will be awarded a tab for food and drinks. Plaquemine Lock’s bar team has created new Halloween-themed additions for the southern-style cocktail list, with new bourbon-based concoctions including the Bloody Lock, a blend of Bourbon, Pineapple, lime and grenadine and The Rougarou, a heady mixture of Buffalo Trace bourbon, sweet vermouth, Cocchi Americano and ginger ale.

10. For a Halloween Brunch Party: 100 Wardour Street
What: Celebrate Halloween in style at 100 Wardour Street with the ultimate Halloween Party (Saturday 29thOct) and Sunday Brunch (30thOct) running in partnership with legendary tequila brand, Casamigos.
The Event: Decked out with hanging skulls, carved pumpkins, purple and black florals and vibrant neon lighting, revellers can enjoy delicious Mexican-inspired dishes of chicken taquitos with queso fresco and Pico de gallo and blackened Cajun spice salmon burritos, alongside devilishly good cocktails and spooktacular tunes from the venues resident DJs.
