On Saturday 14th January, Gopal’s Corner and Market Halls Oxford Street are hosting London’s largest ‘Pongal Feast’. A celebration to mark Veganuary, Tamil Heritage Month in London and Thai Pongal, the one-day celebration will feature unlimited feasting, live music and Tamil-inspired entertainment.
Gopal’s Corner will be serving a traditional Tamil vegetarian feast, typically served during Thai Pongal. Banana leaves will be piled high with four vegan or vegetarian curries and all the trimmings – including appalam (poppadom), dried chilies, relish, vadai (spicy savoury snack) and Pongal (traditional rice pudding). Everything will be unlimited for the ultimate feasting experience.
Expect an explosion of flavours, a feast like no other, and something truly special. There will be four ticketed feasting sessions throughout the day. Tickets cost £15 and are available to book in advance here.
