Attend This: Daddy Bao’s Mid Autumn Festival FeastBy Alicia Grimshaw
To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in Taiwan, family and friends come together to give thanks, feast and enjoy special dishes. Daddy Bao is taking part in the celebrations with a one-off event on 1st October that draws on the Mid-Autumn traditions, but with a unique twist. The event is designed to bring family and friends together for a special sharing-style feast – just as they would in Taiwan.
Daddy Bao has created a special tasting menu inspired by the Taiwanese tradition of outdoor grilling for the Mid-Autumn Festival. The menu features barbecue meats and vegetables, as well as fruits like pomelo and filled mooncakes, all traditionally eaten to celebrate the festival.
Dishes include: Oyster, lime leaf oil, pomelo mignonette and granita, followed by Three cup grilled chicken wings, Duck stuffed lotus root, and Taiwanese hot dog bao. Sides come in the form of Sichuan potato salad and Crab fried rice, and there’s Pumpkin pie mooncake for dessert.
There will also be cocktail specials on offer on the day, designed to compliment the flavours of the menu. For those unable to make the feast, Daddy Bao will be running two Mid-Autumn dishes on their specials board from 2nd – 8th October.
Bookings for the Daddy Bao mid-autumn festival can be made from 12pm-8pm via Resy.
