For cabaret: The London Cabaret Club

What: The London Cabaret Club is hosting a Summer Bank Holiday Carnival Special with an outstanding new production at The Bloomsbury Ballroom. The show will take guests on a tropical tour of immersive cabaret, featuring an evening of vibrant live performances, colourful carnival dancers, exotic rum-based cocktails and a mouth-watering Caribbean menu. The London Cabaret Club Carnival Show will feature extravagant live performances from the award winning, world-class samba troupe Brazilian Fantasy. While enjoying the show, diners can expect a tailor-made menu from the Caribbean, set to tantalise taste buds with West Indies and Caribbean flavours.

For a new restaurant: Din Tai Fung

Known as the go-to destination enjoy street performances, markets and great foodies nooks, Din Tai Fung sits amongst the hustle and bustle. The Taiwanese restaurant is known for offering their signature Din Tai Fung dishes, including its world-famous Xiao Long Bao (Steamed Pork Dumplings) and the Salted Egg Yolk Custard Lava Buns for dessert are now available every day due to popular demand!

For the world’s biggest inflatable obstacle course: The Monster

The Lowdown: The Monster, the world’s biggest inflatable obstacle course, is returning to its home in Alexandra Palace, London for another knock out bank holiday weekend, running from Friday 23rd – Wednesday 28th August. This year will be bigger and better than ever before, with a MEGA line up of brand new activities and games including Boozy Bingo, Drag Queen Karaoke and Mega Beer Pong. As if that wasn’t enough, kids will have the opportunity to be among the first to take on Europe’s biggest live NERF experience which will include the ultimate NERF battle (free play on The Monster), Custom built Targeting Arena (a themed zone featuring interactive challenges) and an Inflatable Sports Arena.

For a plant-powered fun: Vegan Day Party

The founder of the plant-based eatery Kalifonia Kitchen is partnering in a new event: Vegan Day Party. Pop along to this day party in South London, at the legendary venue that is Brixton JAMM. Join the team from midday-7pm on the last Bank Holiday Monday of the year for a day filled with amazing vegan food, drink, artisan shopping, health & wellbeing and of course, amazing entertainment and legendary vibes.

For an ice cream festival: Covent Garden

The Lowdown: Covent Garden will be celebrating the last Summer Bank Holiday with a family friendly festival celebrating all things frozen from 24th until 26th August in the Covent Garden Piazza. Expect an incredible array of sweet treats on offer, including over 50 flavours of ice cream from avocado soft serves, granitas and teppanyaki-style ice cream. Stop by and try some of the delicious and colourful scoops, cones and tubs from the area’s most exciting and innovative establishments. Morelli’s will be creating six bespoke ice cream flavours to celebrate Covent Garden’s heritage as a fruits and vegetables market, as well as exciting flavours including Aperol Spritz and Banoffee Pie. Avobar will be serving limited edition avocado soft-serve and Laduree will be serving macoron ice-cream sandwiches!

For vintage shopping: Hackney Flea Market

The Lowdown: Expect bargains galore at this well-regarded flea market in Hackney. Taking place on Saturday and Sunday, expect to hunt some gems – this flea market is great for vintage furniture, clothing, accessories and costume jewellery.

For cocktails and dancing: Trailer Happiness

The Lowdown: West London’s favourite mid-century tiki lounge, Trailer Happiness, has got you covered from day-to-night as it serves up delicious rum punches including the Montego Bay Punch – a perfectly balanced combination of Blackwell Rum, lemon sherbet, orange juice, pineapple juice, banana syrup and Angostura bitters; from £6 on the street from 11am – 7pm. From 8pm until 3am Trailer’s doors will open for a lockdown party where the unparalleled Big Tune sound system will play the best sounds in town until the small hours

For dancing, rum & more: Notting Hill Carnival

The Lowdown: Notting Hill Carnival is back and bigger than ever. Each year, almost a million people attend this celebration of Caribbean culture in Notting Hill. Expect costume-clad dancing, reggae in the street, delicious street vendors selling foods such as jerk chicken, goat stew, spiced corn and rum punch. Get out your glitter and get ready to dance.

For a wine tour: Bolney Wine Estate

The Lowdown: Bolney Wine Estate, a stunning Sussex-based vineyard (just one-hour out of London Victoria), are running vineyard tours and wine tastings all Bank Holiday weekend. The Taster Tour features a one-and-a-half hour tour and tasting with a Bolney guide. Roam the beautiful vineyard while learning about English wines and delicious Bolney wines. This taster tour also features a tutored tasting of five Bolney’s award-winning wines, matched with five cheese tastings.
