Aperol have conducted some highly detailed research: apparently, over half (56%) of Brits think they have lost all spontaneity – with a fifth of Londoners (22%) saying they haven’t been for a spontaneous drink with a friend in over 5 months. (Please note: we’re not one for statistics, we just think it’s an excuse to booze in the sunshine, and we’re totally ok with that).

To help solve this, and encourage Londoners to embrace a more easy-going Italian approach to socialising, Aperol is bringing The Aperol Spritz Sundial Social back to London’s Southbank from 11th – 15th July. This pop-up bar will offer ‘gratuiti’ Aperol Spritz, so everyone can rediscover the joy of spontaneous fun with pals, and experience a taste of Italy’s aperitivo culture.

The ‘Aperitivo Hours’ in Italy are a unique ritual, built around a natural casual get together at the end of the day, over a drink or two – and for years these golden hours in Italy have begun with an Aperol Spritz.

To help Londoners start their evening the Italian way, the Aperol Spritz Sundial Social will offer a perfectly balanced Aperol Spritz serve – completely free of charge – when the sundial strikes ‘aperitivo hour’ at 5pm. There is no need to book in advance – just turn up, order your free Aperol Spritz and enjoy the contagious Italian fun. With music and nibbles, as well as Aperol fussball and table tennis, simply soak up the sun with friends and see where the evening takes you.
