1. For Impeccable Service: Polo Bar Mayfair
The Cocktail: Crown Stag – Dalmore 12yo whisky gently stirred with Campari, Cynar and Mandarin Napoleon (£15.50)
The Story: Polo Bar is the type of establishment where you can put the world to rights with an old friend, or celebrate a much deserved promotion. The Summer Collection is the creation of masterful Head Mixologist Carmine Catena – a wise chap who has concocted a winning array of bitter Martinis, signature cocktails and timeless classics. Nibble a salt beef sandwich, with the bitter kick of the Crown Stag – perfection.

2. For Luscious Plants and City Views: Sky Pod Bar
The Cocktail: High In The Sky – Mandarin Vodka, Peach Liqueur, Fresh Passion Fruit and Lime Juice, Champagne (£14.50)
The Story: Everyone loves to sip at altitude, but Sky Pod offers so much more. The plants are expertly groomed, the centre buzzing with a spectacular circular bar and the large window leaves you mesmerised with a stunning view out over London Bridge and The Shard. 3. For the Return of an Old Friend: Dead Doll’s House
The Cocktail: The French Martini – Vodka, Chambord and Pineapple Juice
The Story: This month, the infamously wacky Dead Doll’s House is enticing the East to come and play. In keeping with the Hoxton pop-up, expect pen and marker decorations, candlelit dinners and potent tipples. Keep it short, classic and fruity with a French Martini.

4. For World Gin Day: Basement Sate
The Cocktail: Take it Sloe – Sloe Gin, Umesha, Vanilla Syrup and Absinthe (£10)
The Story: Basement Sate is the type of establishment where pudding comes first. The father of all things sweet, was opened by two best friends on a mission to serve excellent cocktails, decadent desserts and meaningful music. Sip the Take it Sloe and munch through the restaurants irresitable Kinder Surprise, a combination of brownie, milk chocolate, Tonka whipped cream, caramelised hazlenuts, praline foam and Caramelia foam.

5. For Perfect Summer Vibes: Chateau Léoube
The Cocktail: Chilled rose wine! (not really a cocktail – sorry)
The Story: When summer comes, there is nothing more quaffable than a chilled glass of pink. This summer make sure that it’s the fruits of the Provence harvest. Rose de Léoube is a game changer, light, pale crisp and dry and packed with fresh summer berries. The perfect pre-dinner sipper.
