Lockdown restrictions are easing at last, but it will still be some time before every type of business is back up and running. Spas and salons were among the first to close, as they inevitably involve getting into close proximity with others, and they will also be among the last to reopen. That doesn’t have to mean completely forgoing the pampering, however. Perhaps it’s about time you turned your home into a beauty spa – at least for an evening. Here’s how.

Set the scene

When you visit a spa, it is about more than just the right face mask or massage therapy. The idea is to pamper the mind, as well as the body, so make some simple preparations. Light a scented candle, choose your music and most important of all, make sure the mobile phone is switched off and in another room. As a final touch, pour yourself a welcome drink. Whether that’s juice, herbal tea or maybe even a glass of champagne is up to you – your spa, your rules!

Take your bath to the next level

We all love to relax in a bath, but how often do we get the time to do so? Soaking away your aches and pains, both physical and mental, is the perfect way to get your spa session off to a perfect start. There are all sorts of salts and essential oils you can add, but for the ultimate relaxation, visit cibdol and get some CBD oil. The hot water helps your whole body to absorb the oil.  If you don’t have a bath, you can achieve a similar effect by adding a few drops into the shower cubicle before you step in. The steam will do the rest.

The perfect facial

A facial is the centrepiece of most spa sessions, so make yours special. Start with a balm cleanser and a gentle exfoliant to prepare yourself for what should be the main event. Now, we all have our favourite products, but for something that’s natural and literally good enough to eat, you could prepare yourself this avocado, honey and oatmeal face mask at home. Just don’t go into your spa session feeling hungry or it might not last long.

Give your hair a treat

Chances are, you’re really starting to miss your hairdresser by now. Yet there are plenty of ways to pamper your hair as part of your at-home spa treatment, and they will leave you looking and feeling like you’ve spent a couple of hours with the pros. While you’ve got the time, this is the perfect opportunity to experiment with a hair mask – pop it on while the face mask is working its magic, or if you can face the mess, you could even leave it in place overnight.

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise

The final step is also the most important. After all that attention, it’s essential that your skin is left soft and hydrated. Again, we all have our favourites, but if you want to try something new, there are some great CBD-based choices here, too.
