According to the World Record Academy, Gregg Fisher, a passionate American gambler and collector from Las Vegas, Nevada, owns the largest casino chips and tokens collection.

The number of items in the collection is 2,222, and every single one comes from a different gambling establishment. “The number of items in this World Record represents the same number of different casinos.”, explained Gregg Fisher.

Fisher’s actual personal collection contains over 4000 items, but the rules for it to be considered for the world record included that only one chip or token from a specific casino must be counted. Even so, the avid collector and gambling enthusiast managed to set this record.

That is, however, not the only condition to officially call Fisher’s personal collection a world record. All the items had to be commercially available, and any homemade items would not be counted. In addition, he had to provide information on how he acquired each item. For a fair count, two qualified independent witnesses had to count, measure, photograph, and authenticate every item in the collection, and this had to happen in a public place.

The next step was to provide a video of the experts counting the collection, which was then submitted for review. Gregg Fisher also had to deliver an inventory spreadsheet signed by both witnesses on every page. The expert witnesses must also independently submit a statement regarding their daily activities in this process.

Fisher will also attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest $1 chips and tokens collection. The current record is 802 items, and Fisher has 818.

His passion for collecting started when he was a child, but instead of casino chips, he collected coins and baseball cards. In an interview he did with Spinettis, he recalls being fascinated by western movies and how they had gambling machines in the saloons. That is why right on his 21st birthday, in 1975, he went to Las Vegas for the first time and fell in love with it.

Gregg Fisher sees the beauty in land-based casinos, even if online gambling is a lot more popular nowadays and there are also online players who broke world records. Christina, a 36-year-old cleaner from Berlin was the lucky winner of the largest online gambling payout of €90,000,000 in 2018, in Gibraltar.

The largest jackpot payout in a slot machine was €17,879,645 and its winner is Jon Heywood from the UK. He got lucky playing Mega Moolah on the 6th of October in 2015. This is a very popular game you can enjoy on a variety of casinos with KingCasinoBonus promotions and you can try your luck at breaking this world record if collecting chips is not your cup of tea.

Fisher’s collection was available for review and challenge at Spinettis Gaming Supplies in Las Vegas in the 27-29 September period. If you have missed it, there is no reason for you to worry. You can see the world’s largest casino chip and token collection from June 16 to June 18, 2022, at the 29th annual show held by the Casino Collectibles Association.
