About Time: You Visited From The Ashes at New Home, Five Points Brewing CoBy Angelica Malin
If you’re unfamiliar with From the Ashes, founders Curtis Bell and Martin Anderson started the BBQ business in Hackney Wick during lockdown, and have amassed a cult-like following thanks to their pop-ups across London and on the festival circuit. The pair have returned to where it all started, finding a permanent home at The Five Points Courtyard, housed within the award-winning East London brewery.
As the summer season approaches, it’s all about fresh pints and BBQ’d meats. From the Ashes’ menu serves up a series of favourites, incorporating a variety of BBQ techniques from offset smoking and grilling to Argentinian Asador. As always, the menu centres around one animal at a time, allowing guests to try more unique cuts of much-loved meats. With an impressive list of small-batch releases, the Five Points team complements these barbecues with unique beers brewed to pair with each BBQ special.
As for drinks, you can expect all kinds of award-winning craft beers form the Five Points team, including Five Points Pale and JUPA, their juicy pale ale. Five Points brew what has become a range of acclaimed modern classics, combining the best of British brewing traditions with the international craft beer movement, and the Five Points Courtyard serves its full range direct from the tank. Not a fan of beer? There’s an impression selection of natural wines and cocktails, including margaritas and pineapple picantes to glug.
