About Time: You Ate Your Way Round London Fashion WeekBy Roberta Lister
London Fashion Week is in full swing, and we have a confession to make – we’re more excited for the food than the fashion. Have a little read of the following, and you’ll soon see why…
Why: Señor Ceviche brings back its brilliant and totally Instagram-worthy Peruvian Superfoods menu this season. Available for lunch and dinner, the party starts with a welcome cocktail, followed by a series of fresh and healthy dishes. Expect Clásico Ceviche – the label’s signature sea-bream dish – alongside quinoa salads, sweet potato and crab causa, plus the ultimate marinated chicken.
Where: Senor Ceviche, Kingly Court, Kingly St, London W1B 5PW
Why: The super-luxe Conrad St James is famous for its decadent afternoon teas, and the hotel’s latest launch is created in celebration of LFW. Inspired by some of the industry’s most iconic designers, the Conrad Catwalk tea includes a marshmallow tea cake with pineapple crisp – an ode to Vivienne Westwood’s inimitable punk creations – and a layered chocolate mousse that pays homage to Jean Paul Gaultier’s breton stripes. On the savoury side, expect dainty smoked-salmon sandwiches and beetroot water cones with fiery horseradish. Combine all this with free-flowing G.H. Mumm champagne, and you’ve pretty much nailed a dream afternoon.
Price: £65 pp, or £39 without champagne.
Where: Conrad St James, 22-28 Broadway, London SW1H 0BH3.
Why: Situated within tottering distance of LFW’s Brewer Street home, Ember Yard is the perfect place to re-charge in-between shows. Renowned for its fusion of Spanish and Italian flavours, this cosy hideout offers a stellar list of tapas alongside expert charcuterie and serious drinks. The icing on the cake? Flash your LFW pass to receive a complimentary welcome cocktail throughout the week.
Where: Ember Yard, 60 Berwick Street, London W1F 8SU
Why: The incredibly cool J Sheekey weighs in this season with a seriously great LFW offer. Throughout the week, from noon to midnight, you can order a half-dozen of the kitchen’s supreme West Mersea Pearl oysters along with a glass of Pol Roger Pure – a very fashiony, sugar-free champagne, for just £18.75. What’s more, the horseshoe-shaped bar is perfect for people watching.

Why: Mark Hix’s Brewer-street spot always gets fully involved with LFW, and this season is no exception. Fuel up before the shows with the special early-morning breakfast menu, or toast a successful day with the decadent champagne-laced afternoon tea. Finally, there’s the specially curated set menu, available for both lunch and dinner – order the Indian Rock chicken salad, and thank us later.
Price: Brunch from £5, afternoon tea £30 with a glass of champagne, set menu £26.50 for three courses.
Where: Hix Soho, 66-70 Brewer St, London W1F 9UP
