So we tried and tasted some of London’s finest gluten-free pancake offerings, to find you the perfect sweet slice. Without further adieu, here’s our favourite gluten-free pancakes. 1. Best for Variety: My Old Dutch, Holborn Gluten Free Pancakes London
What: Pancakes with compote of berries, icing sugar and ice cream
Price: From £6.25
Gluten Free Winner: My Old Dutch caters for those gluten free kids with their special flour blend – a mix of rice, tapioca, buckwheat, maize and potato. They can do gluten free versions of large savoury, sweet, breakfast, kids and lite pancakes. Total win.

2. Best for Vegans: Senzala Creperie, Brixton Gluten Free Pancakes London
What: Dujhan with Garlic mushrooms, caramelised onions, asparagus, sundried tomatoes, rocket and spinach drizzled with our Maple & Mustard dressing.

Gluten Free Winner: All the galettes (fancy French savoury pancakes, don’t you know) at Senzala are made with buckwheat flour, which is gluten free. They have a fantastic variety of pancakes on offer, including an impressive array of vegan options. This restaurant serves up hungry Brixtonites day in, day out, and we think we know why. Nom.

3. Best for Savoury: Shutterbug, Shoreditch Gluten Free Pancakes London
What: Canadian breakfast galette with egg, smoky bacon, blueberries and maple syrup
Price: £5.7o
Gluten Free Winner: Shutterbug is the place to come for a fun atmosphere and pancakes in one; they have fantastic, creative cocktails, as well as some wicked Buckwheat gluten free pancakes. If you’re in the mood, you can build your own pancakes with their DIY toppings – read more here. There is no finer cure for a hangover than the savoury galette featuring bacon, egg, vintage cheddar and tomato. A cure for anything, in fact, right there.

4. Best for Authentic French: La Petite Bretagne, Hammersmith Gluten Free Pancakes London
What: Raspberry Madness with fresh raspberries, white chocolate, raspberry coulis
Price: £4.50
Gluten Free Winner: So here’s the deal. The normal sweet pancakes are made with organic white flour, but if you ask nicely, the kind folks at La Petite Bretagne will make them with gluten free Buckwheat flour. All the savoury Galettes are made gluten free naturally, but sometimes you’re in a sweet mood – we understand. Opt for the delicious fruity sweet pancakes, or the incredible chestnut jam one (mon dieu!), and if you fancy something savoury, the smoked salmon, dill, creme fraiche and lemon is dreamy.

5. Best for Unusual Flavours: Creperie Du Monde, Clapton Gluten Free Pancakes London
What: Simple Pleasures – smoked salmon, spinach and cream cheese
Price: £5.80
Gluten Free Winner: All the crepes here can be made with Buckwheat or white flour. They’ve got some fantastic, unusual world flavours – and the crepes are really filling, so great for lunch, too. They do everything from Brunch Crepes with smoked salmon and hollandaise, to outrageously decadent New York Crepe with Oreo, nuts, cream and butterscotch. The classic Breakfast Crepe comes with scrambled egg, bacon, mushrooms and grilled tomatoes. Basically, the best thing about a fry up, plus extra carbs. If you’re really naughty, try the Tiramisu Dreams with mascarpone, cream, biscuit, coffee syrup and cocoa topping. Stop it.
