About Time: You Celebrated World Egg Day at EggslutBy Angelica Malin
To mark World Egg Day 2020 (Friday 9th October), eggslut will be donating 10% of sales at both UK eggslut restaurants to The Felix Project. The Felix Project is a London-based food redistribution charity which is fighting food waste and hunger.
Following the success of World Egg Day 2019, this year eggslut has committed to donating 10% of sales from both eggslut UK restaurants to the charitable initiative. The Felix Project has already provided food for 14 million meals this year to date and eggslut hopes to help them build on this success with the donation.
Get your mitts on a number of egg-based bites, including:
– The Fairfax – a sandwich made from soft scrambled eggs and cheese, served in a brioche bun.
– The Slut – made from a coddled egg on top of a smooth potato puree, poached in a glass jar and served with baguette slices.
– And special menu item The Gaucho – seared wagyu tri-tip steak, over medium fried egg, chimichurri, red onions and dressed arugula in a warm brioche bun.
Eggslut is pioneering the trend of the egg as a gourmet concept and opened its second UK restaurant this summer 2020 in London, Fitzrovia. Eggslut is proud to partner with British favourites Clarence Court eggs and uses only Clarence Court Burford Brown eggs in both restaurants.
Every menu item is cooked fresh to order using the highest quality locally sourced ingredients and there are no freezers which are used on site. The eggslut concept originated as a chef meal in a two Michelin star restaurant and this chef-driven quality remains at the core of each dish.
