Who would have thought we would be spending Valentine’s Day 2021 in lockdown? Although we’re craving an over-indulgent restaurant dinner, or enjoying a few too many in our beloved local, we’re still going to make the most of it. If you’ve left things to the last minute, and don’t fancy an M&S dine in for two meal, we’ve discovered some V-Day delivery ideas which are sure to pack a romantic punch:

1. For Italian Tapas: Como Garden 

The Lowdown: Using only the best and freshest Italian produce, the Como Garden Valentine’s menu –available on 14th February only – includes 4 Antipasti (think arancini with parmesan and Fontina cheese, Burrata and other delicious bites), 2 of their signature pasta dishes, 2 Carne e Pesce (Osso Buco with polenta and sea bass alla Siciliana) and their showstopping tiramisu for dessert. Also included is a bottle of bubbles.

2. For Latin American Cuisine: Zuaya 

The Lowdown: This year, Zuaya are bringing Latin America to your living room thanks to their set V-Day menu, available on 14th February only. The menu features a selection of their best dishes including: 3 starters, 2 of their signature salads, a seafood and meat dish and an indulgent Dulce De Leche Flan. For the perfect pairing, this menu includes a bottle of Cava Vintage 2011.

3. For a Chinese Feast: Park Chinois 

The Lowdown: Available on 13th and 14th February is the special Love Chinois at Home Valentine’s menu for two. It includes impeccably prepared Chinese dishes from Executive Chef Lee Che Liang; a stunning rose-inspired Valentine’s dessert; two pre-bottled cocktails of your choice; two beautiful Park Chinois fish chopstick holders and a calligraphy notecard, ensuring your table setting is as elegant as your dinner.

4. For Modern Indian Fare: Kahani

The Lowdown: Surprise your better half  (or yourself) with a gourmet feast this Valentine’s. Available across V-Day weekend, tuck into a vast array of modern Indian delicacies. The menu includes the likes of: Tandoori Broccoli, Malabar Tiger Prawns, Tulsi Seekh Kebab, followed by mains of Mughlai Lamb Chops, Biryani Badami, Chicken Paneer, Tawa Masala Cheese and Naan Raitha. Chocolate and strawberry delight completes the romantic menu.

5. For an Indulgent Menu: Bermondsey Larder 

The Lowdown: Irish Chef Robin Gill, behind the newly opened Bermondsey Larder, has created a sharing Valentine’s weekend kit for meat-eaters (glazed short rib of beef) or vegetarians (pot roast cauliflower) to help bring a little style to a lockdown Valentine’s weekend. The Valentine’s feast kicks off with sourdough, cultured butter, and taramasalata, with a sunflower seed pulse included in the vegetarian box. Then follows the glazed short rib with cauliflower, mushrooms, blue cheese and wild garlic butter, and comes with his famous hasselback potatoes. To finish, Salted Caramel choux buns with Pump Street chocolate mousse and whisky cream.

6. For a French Night In: Drop 

The Lowdown: Whisk you loved one away on a romantic getaway to Paris without ever having to set a foot outside the house with the new wine delivery service app, Drop. A sommelier in your pocket, the wine experts behind the Drop have curated a ‘French Night In’ menu that can be dropped off direct to your door in under an hour, available 11th-14th February. Enjoy a bottle of 2018 Savagnin Ouillé ‘La Pierre’ made with grapes from 25 year old vines, alongside a selection of Hor d’oeuvres that include Comté and St Marcellin cheese, a fresh baguette and saucisson.

7. For a Vegan Offering: THIS x Vegan Dough Co 

The Lowdown: It doesn’t have to be all Champagne and three-course meals for your lockdown love-in, as Vegan Dough Co are knocking out a special Valentine’s pizza in collaboration with THIS. The plant-powered heavyweights have partnered to launch a first-of-its-kind pizza topped with three vegan meats, including vegan bacon love hearts – available on 14th February only. The plant-based meat dream pizza called ‘The Animal’ features THIS Isn’t Bacon shaped into love hearts, vegan chorizo, salami and mozzarella on a tomato sauce base topped with natural aphrodisiac, pepperoncini chilli peppers.
