Park Hyatt New York: Rossano Ferretti Hairspa
The Rossano Ferretti Hairspa at the Park Hyatt is most of the decadent, luxury salons in New York City. Located on the 25th floor, the salon has amazing views of 5th Avenue and feels a million miles from the bustling city below. The salon offers a range of hair treatments; from haircuts and blow dries to colour and revitalising hair treatments, all using Rossano’s signature hair products.
I booked in for highlights with Kristina Noto, who is an expert hair colourist and Great Lengths extensions specialist. I will be honest, my colour was a bit of a state; one of the perils of being a journalist is you end up being a guinea pig for different stylists and colourists, and my hair was a messy patchwork of different styles.
Kristina was very attentive in listening to my personal needs, we talked at length about the desired look I wanted to achieve – a more subtle, natural Balayage look with some light framing around the face. Kristina then got to work, apply highlights freehand and taking great care to apply the highlights in the right places and tone down where needed. It was like watching an artist at work – you can really see the effort, attention to detail and perfectionism that goes into Kristina’s work. She’s also great fun and felt like chatting with a friend for a few hours – I can see why so many of Kristina’s clients are regulars, she’s a delight to be around.
After the colour process, Kristina used a special revitalising mask by Rossano Ferretti on my hair which gave it a boost and shine, making it feel super soft afterwards. The colour was absolute perfection; I dare say it’s the best colour I’ve ever had and in my view, Kristina Noto is the best colourist in New York City.
The result was impeccable. The colour was the perfect marriage of brunette and blonde, light and shimmery in all the right places, but still natural and subtle – the kind of colour that grows out beautifully and doesn’t need too much upkeep. I couldn’t be happier.
