Christmas Cottage: Our Experience

I stayed in the very lovely Christmas Cottage in the Cotswolds and totally loved it. Christmas Cottage sleeps up to six people, in three bedrooms, with a family bathroom and a ground floor en-suite bathroom. It’s got some great perks, including a back garden and off street parking is available for one car, with Stow-on-the-Wold on the doorstep. The rustic style of the cottage is so charming; beautifully decorated and furnished, in the heart of the Cotswolds market town of Stow-on-the-Wold. If you’re looking for a weekend exploring the Cotswolds, this place is for you – the cottage is in the perfect location for exploring the local towns and villages.

I loved the peace and serenity of the cottage – located on a quiet cul-de-sac close to the centre of the beautiful market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, it’s the perfect respite from busy, loud London. Stow in itself is a great place to explore, famous for its old, character-filled buildings, local pubs and plethora of shops. If you’re looking for some fresh air, the cottage is also perfect, as its in the heart of the North Cotswolds, surrounded by stunning countryside which makes for ideal weekend walks and wanderings.

Christmas Cottage: The Facilities

What I loved about the cottage is that although it was old in feel, it had all the modern facilities you’d want for a holiday. The cottage has been recently refurbished, with a new kitchen and dining room, and there’s a lovely modern edge to the place. We loved the wood burning stove in the living room to create the perfect ambience – and, of course, the modern touches, including wireless internet access, a large flatscreen TV and BBQ area outside.

Christmas Cottage: Our Verdict

I found the process of using Character Cottages totally great and couldn’t have loved Christmas Cottage in Stow-on-the-Wold more. It was the perfect escape from hectic London, and the cottage itself is such a nice break from the city, with a really homey, cozy feel. If you’re looking for a weekend break, family holiday or spontaneous city escape, give Character Cottages a go.
