For those who like their wellness routines with a side of Sauvignon, a new collaboration in Battersea is promising just that. On Saturday 27th September, boutique studio Mind & Motion will host Wine’d Down – a hybrid afternoon of reformer pilates and low-alcohol wine tasting.

The event is the brainchild of fitness collective Pilates and Pours and 6Percent, a wine brand that has carved out a niche in the burgeoning mid-strength category. Attendees can expect a 50-minute stretch-focused pilates class – billed as a fusion of the studio’s “Light & Dark” sessions, with flowing sequences to strengthen and restore – before trading resistance bands for wine glasses.

And not just any glasses: 6Percent’s award-winning wines contain, as the name suggests, just 6% alcohol by volume. The company calls it “mindful drinking”; others might call it a happy medium between abstinence and excess.

The Wine’d Down concept captures a trend that’s been gathering pace in wellness circles: the blending of movement, mindfulness and moderated indulgence. Where once workouts were followed by green juices, now kombucha, alcohol-free cocktails and low-ABV alternatives are elbowing their way onto the post-class menu.

As autumn edges in, the Battersea session promises to lean into the season’s cosier sensibilities: soft lighting, a mellow playlist, and the kind of communal atmosphere that encourages chatting as much as stretching. For £45 a ticket (which includes two glasses of wine), the event offers participants the chance to swap small talk at the bar for something closer to savasana with sauvignon.

Tickets are available via Eventbrite here, with a 10% discount on offer to 6Percent customers. Spaces, much like the reformer beds themselves, are limited.
