About Time: You Visited Lucy & Yak’s First-Ever ‘London & Yak’ Pop-UpBy Alicia Grimshaw
After years of brightening high streets up and down the country, Lucy & Yak is finally making its way to the capital. The socially and environmentally conscious fashion brand, founded in Yorkshire and beloved for its cheerful dungarees and uncompromising ethics, opens its first capital outpost on Friday 17th October in Spitalfields.

The pop-up, dubbed London & Yak, is instantly recognisable: a wash of the brand’s signature pink across Lamb Street, filled with the kind of colour and optimism that has become Lucy & Yak’s hallmark. Spread over two floors, the space includes a mural designed with a local artist and a dedicated Re:Yak hub, part of the company’s circularity programme. You can bring in well-loved Yaks for repair, recycling or resale through its PreLoved buyback scheme – a small but tangible gesture towards slowing down fashion’s relentless churn. The pop-up is home to the full collection of ethically produced clothing alongside L&Y, the label’s quieter, more pared-back sibling line, launched earlier this year.
The move marks a significant moment for a brand that has grown from a Brighton basement to a network of shops across the UK, in cities from Bristol to Manchester, Cardiff to Norwich, all while maintaining its independent spirit and social mission. The new Spitalfields site, open for at least six months, will also host creative events and community meet-ups, all bookable online.
