What: This weekend sees the launch of Brown‘s London Art Weekend, the third annual art event happening at Mayfair and St. James’ galleries with a exciting programme of events taking place across the area’s busy galleries, museums and public spaces from 1st July, running until Sunday 3rd July. During the Art Weekend, internationally acclaimed artist Sophie Ryder will be exhibiting in London for the first time in over a decade at the newly-opened Hignell Gallery, specialising in contemporary sculpture, in Shepherd’s Market, Mayfair.

Why: Highlights include Gallery HOP!, happening today, and a masquerade party inspired by Sophie Ryder’s use of mythological creatures in her work. Hignell Gallery will provide Hare and Minotaur masks to try on at the gallery but everyone is encouraged to create their own to wear. Head down on Saturday 2nd July, for a tour of exhibitions in Mayfair by leading female artists including Yayoi Kusama at Victoria Miro and Louise Nevelson at PACE, led by Abby Hignell and Maeve Doyle of Bankrobber, starting off with brunch at HIX Mayfair. On Sunday, swing on by for Ryder in Residence – Sophie Ryder will be creating live work and signing copies of her latest hardback book ‘A Life in Sculpture’.

What: Nyetimber has today opened its new pop-up bar celebrating quintessential Britishness, located on the terrace at The Kensington hotel. The temporary bar is running until next Sunday 10th July. One of the best things to in London this weekend, we think.

Why: The pop-up bar, a concept developed by The Kensington’s Bar Manager Ben Manchester, serves Nyetimber Rosé by the glass and bottle, alongside Executive Chef Steve Gibbs’ Wimbledon inspired dish of the classic strawberries and cream. Made with Nyetimber jelly, Kentish strawberries and elderflower cream, the dish honours The Kensington’s emphasis on seasonal and local produce to recreate simple, British dishes with an imaginative twist.

Wildman will be taking the event. Zephyr has been teaching yoga since 2002 in London, trained via the very first Yoga Campus Intake and has been a teacher and a mentor on their yoga training programme since 2005. Her teachings focus on combining the elements of creative movement, flow and dynamic sequencing, focusing on alignment, prana vayus and kinesiology.

What: Mexico’s iconic masked superheroes will be returning to the UK to perform in The Greatest Spectacle of Lucha Libre, an electrifying two-day extravaganza taking place at London’s York Hall in Bethnal Green today and Saturday 2nd July.
