1. For a Fire-Cooking Festival: Meatopia

What: After a break in 2020, Meatopia came back with a bang in 2021 and welcomed chefs from the UK and across Europe. This year, Meatopia returns to the original ethos of championing chefs globally, with appearances from talent as far-reaching as Dubai. Taking place from 2nd-4th September, the line-up features Sertaç Diriki from Mangal ll, Adriana Cavita from Cavita, Hawksmoor’s Philip Branch, Will Murray & Jack Croft from Fallow, Bab Haus’ Leyli Homayoonfar and Rebecca Goad, plus many, many more.

2. For a Wine Tasting Event: The Mulwray Presents: Sip School

What: On Wednesday 7th September at 6pm, The Mulwray wine bar above The Blue Posts pub in Soho will be running its next Sip School event – a new series of hosted wine tastings by wine director Honey Spencer and sommelier Sarah Wright. Attendees will be invited to delve into the world of skin contact, exploring the current trend of the ancient style of winemaking.

3. For a Cocktail Collaboration: BAO Fitzrovia 

What: This Autumn, BAO Fitzrovia will be hosting the second series of U Bartend with TOKI Whiskey, welcoming bartenders from some of the world’s most creative bars to each take over the bar for one night only on 13th September, 18th October and 15th November. U Bartend kicks off on Tuesday 13th September with Kaito del Valle from Mexico City, which specialises in Japanese-influenced cocktails with a focus on sake and highballs.

4. For a Goan Food Festival: Gunpowder

What: Gunpowder will bring the culinary traditions and flavours of India’s west coast to its Soho and Tower Bridge restaurants with its Goan Food Festival, running from Sunday 4th to Sunday 11th. Highlighting Gunpowder’s seasonal and provenance-led ethos, the menu will see dishes inspired by the diverse Goan, Konkani, Malvani and Karavali food cultures that formulate much of India’s coastal cuisine, which is in turn informed by historic Portuguese rule.

Enjoy smaller plates including Maldon Rock Oysters topped with frozen hibiscus and cashew nut Arrack granita, and Raw Scallop Chaat served with Solkadi. Larger plates feature a refined approach to the traditional Goan Xec Xec Velvet Crab which will be served whole with cockles, along with Baby Lamb Ribs smothered in Xacuti, a complex, rich Goan curry paste.

5. For an Oma-Shochu Supper Club: Junsei

What: Say hello to Shochu – the traditionally-distilled and fermented Japanese spirit set to be the next big trend from the East – which is taking over the drinks list at Japanese hotspot Junsei on 19th September, for one night only.

No stranger to traditional Japanese and hyper-regional ingredients, Chef Patron Aman Lakhiani has come together with saké samurai and global educator Natsuki Kikuya, recognised by the Japanese government for her services to the drinks industry, to host a one-of-a-kind Oma-Shochu supper club with signature Junsei dishes paired with shochu.

6. For a Charity Dinner: Cinnamon Kitchen City 

What: On Tuesday 20th September, Executive Chef of The Cinnamon Collection, Vivek Singh, is joining forces with some of the country’s most renowned chefs – Calum Franklin, Chris and Jeff Galvin, Lisa Goodwin-Allen and Saiphin Moore – for an exclusive five-course supper club at Cinnamon Kitchen City all in aid of Hospitality Action. On the night, expect delicious food, a sparkling reception by Hattingley Valley and a live auction with chef masterclasses, bespoke dining experiences and vineyard tours up for grabs.

7. For a Weekend Celebration: Cocktails in the City

What: Cocktails in the City will be back in Bedford Square Gardens from 8th-10th September for the grand finale of the London Summer Series 2022. Bringing festival vibes to a private Georgian garden in the heart of London, the September edition will feature 20 of London’s finest bars including the first pop-up of the Baccarat Bar from Harrods through to the renowned party bar The Cocktail Club. Guests can enjoy the weekend-long celebration and get stuck into ice carving sessions, join the huge Monkey Shoulder silent disco and try their hand at shuffleboard provided by London Shuffle Club.

8. For a Supper Club: Cubitt House x Georgina Hayden

What: Award-winning food author Georgina Hayden is next in line to cook at the monthly cookbook supper club ‘Cubitt House Eats With…’. Forming part of an ongoing series, the event takes place at The Princess Royal in Notting Hill, the newest opening from London’s leading pub group, Cubitt House, in their private dining room, The Victoria Room.

For her menu, Georgina will take inspiration from her childhood growing up around her grandparents’ Greek Cypriot taverna in Tufnell Park drawing inspiration from her travels around the Mediterranean, Middle East and Eastern Europe. Expect a night of vegan cooking with dishes that pack a flavourful punch.

9. For a Celebration of Veg: Neil Rankin x Andrew Clarke

What: On Friday 2nd September, BBQ heavyweights Neil Rankin and Andrew Clarke will host a special evening at the critically acclaimed Acme Fire Cult in Dalston, celebrating all things veg. Utilising seasonal British greens and Symplicity Foods – Neil’s own zero-waste product made from fermented vegetables – the duo have devised a menu that will feature Dan Dan spring greens with grilled cucumber and chilli ramen broth, and the Symplicity 3-month aged patty doner Kebab from Neil Rankin. Other highlights include chargrilled leeks and pistachio romesco and crab and bone marrow toast with salted cabbage, and jalapeno Verde from Acme Fire Cult – all cooked over flames on the cult’s superior custom-made grill.

10. For a Cocktail Partnership: Silverleaf  x Little Red Door

What: On Monday 5th September, acclaimed East London bar, Silverleaf at Pan Pacific London, will partner with the award-winning Parisian bar, Little Red Door, to host the global launch party for pan-Asian craft spirits brand, The Orientalist Spirits. The exclusive event will showcase a carefully curated cocktail menu designed by the internationally renowned teams to bring to life The Orientalist Spirit’s stunning pan-Asian portfolio of vodka, gin, rum and whisky.

Throughout the evening, expect a forward-thinking and minimalist drinks offering by the Silverleaf team that focuses on flavour and colour profiles. Whilst Barney O’Kane and Lea Longayrou of the Little Red Door team have applied their Farm to Bar approach, which is highlighted in their current FLOURISH menu, to deliver the exuberant cocktails that the Parisian bar is renowned for.
