If you’re wondering how to mark International Women’s Day properly this year, here’s a good start: lunch. With five trailblazing female chefs.

On Sunday 8th March, Cavita hosts a one-off collaborative feast bringing together five formidable female chefs whose roots span the Middle East, Mexico, Sierra Leone, the Caribbean and South Asia. It’s less panel talk, more full-throttle celebration of culture, creativity and what modern British dining actually looks like in 2026.

At the centre is Adriana Cavita, founder and executive chef at Cavita, whose menus champion the depth and diversity of Mexico’s regional cooking in Marylebone. Joining her is Ayesha Kalaji, chef-owner of Queen of Cups and this year’s Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs Chef of the Year, known for bold Middle Eastern plates grounded in her Jordanian heritage and food history research.

Chef, educator and author Keshia Sakarah brings her powerful focus on African and Caribbean foodways, while Maria Bradford – of Michelin Bib Gourmand-awarded Shwen Shwen – showcases the vibrant, expressive flavours of Sierra Leone, inspired by her childhood in Freetown. Completing the line-up is Sabrina Gidda, chef, author and hospitality creative, whose work blends classical technique with global influence and a deep commitment to nurturing the next generation.

Expect a collaborative menu shaped by migration, memory and modern Britain; traditional flavours reimagined with intention and pride. Alongside the feast, guests can settle in for a live Q&A hosted by Justine Murphy, diving into the chefs’ journeys and the realities of building meaningful careers in today’s food industry.
