Combining the holy trio of good times – music, food and drinks – GIANT STEPS is a new outdoor space taking up residence in Hackney Wick this summer for a series of weekend parties. If live music, barbecued meats and craft cocktails send you wild, we think it’s about time you discovered east London’s latest opening.

GIANT STEPS: What to Expect

A collaboration between Brilliant Corners (the restaurant/bar and music venue in Dalston), and the Analogue Foundation (international supporters of analogue sound and processes), GIANT STEPS is a 500 person capacity waterside terrace hosting live jazz performances and a rotation of top chefs and restaurants all cooking new menus, along with day parties on Saturdays and Sundays. It’s the hottest summer ticket in town.

GIANT STEPS: Drink

The team at Brilliant Corners have curated an impressive beverage selection for GIANT STEPS’ term at Hackney Wick. As well as various craft beers, there’s magnums of natural wine including: Domaine Plageoles’ sparkling Mauzac Nature; Les Vins du Cabanon’s Canta Manana rosé; and Viti Viti Vinci’s Irancy Les Ronces.

For some summer time liquid bangers, cocktails include the White Negroni with East London Dry Gin, Suze and Lillet Blanc; Ti-Punch, a muddle of J.M. Rhum Agricole, pure cane syrup and lime; and a Mezcal Margarita with Papadiablo Espadin, agave, lime and Shichimi.

GIANT STEPS: Food

We knew Brilliant Corners wouldn’t let us down when it comes to their foodie offering. The team have invited their restaurant pals to put together BBQ menus at GIANT STEPS over the course of the summer. Morito and Brawn have already been cooking up a storm, and there’s plenty of other restaurants and chefs who will be manning the grills over the next coming months.

GIANT STEPS: Music

Visit during the day and bathe your ears in live jazz performances on the terrace, or head into the indoor new space to listen to top DJs programmed by Brilliant Corners. And that’s not all…leading acts that have played at Brilliant Corners before, as well as other record collectors from all over the world, will be gracing GIANT STEPS over the summer playing all kinds of feel good tunes.
