About Time: You Discovered Angela Hartnett’s Cafe Murano Book ClubBy Angelica Malin
On the last Sunday of every month, Angela Hartnett OBE will launch her very own Book Club – a series of engaging, inspiring, creative culinary evenings dedicated to the best writing in the food business.
Taking place in the intimate and relaxed setting of Cafe Murano Bermondsey, the series will provide guests with the opportunity to meet outstanding writers and enjoy the warmth of Cafe Murano hospitality with a two-course dinner with nibbles, inspired by the respective writers included.
Cafe Murano Book Club: The Schedule
Award-winning food writer Mark Diacono will lead the conversations, starting with acclaimed food journalist and presenter of BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme, Dan Saladino, on Sunday 27th February. Discussing his debut book, Eating to Extinction, Dan will share his pioneering approach to the treatment of our damaged food systems.
Dame Mary Berry DBE is up next on Sunday 26th March, with a spotlight on Mary Berry Cooks to Perfection. Not only are Mary’s books household holy grails, but they’re also packed full of fascinating anecdotes and words of wisdom.
The final guest in the first series will be TV personality and renowned chef, Ravneet Gill, on Sunday 24th April. Rav will be in conversation on Sugar, I Love You, her latest book serving up gems to help readers build their baking armoury, alongside witty anecdotes, and essays. The premise of the evening is to provide guests with an exclusive insight into the creative process, research, and motivation behind leading food writers’ latest publications.
All books will be available to purchase at Cafe Murano Bermondsey for a chance to have the writers personally sign and Mark will also offer guests the opportunity to ask their own questions.
