We asked our readers. You told us in 140 characters. And so, our brand spanking new events for April are all based on what the lovely people of Twitter told us they wanted to learn about. From vlogging to grad scheming, we’ve devised some super fun events that we think we really help kickstart your career in media. We’re very excited for the new events we’ve got planned for April – here’s what in store:
About Time: You Learnt to Vlog – Saturday 11th April
Who: For the Aspiring Video Blogger
What: Ever wanted to start a video blog and not sure how to get started? The world of video blogging can be a scary one; so this one-day intensive course will teach the basic of filming, editing and creating video content. On the day you’ll meet sucessful vloggers and learn the ropes of YouTubing, and you’ll get the chance to shoot your own vlog by the end of the day.

About Time: You Came to #SETSessions – Saturday 18th April
Who: For The Wannabe Journalist:
What: #SETSessions gives you one-day work experience in what it’s like working in a lifestyle magazine. You’ll get the chance to meet the About Time editorial team and hear from them – and find out what makes the perfect pitch. In the morning you’ll get the other attendees, before being split into groups and brainstorm editorial content. After a delicious lunch, you’ll hear from editorial experts from some of London’s biggest publications, before being asked to write your feature ideas and pitch the editors. It’s a fantastic immersion day in the art of editorial, and we guarantee you’ll take away lots of great tips about working for magazines.

About Time: You Learnt to Negotiate Better – Wednesday 1st April
Who: For the Fed-Up Freelancer
What: After our successful negotiation seminar in February, professional negotiator Tom Stevenson is back with a special masterclass just for freelancers. This negotiation evening is all about learning to negotiate for more money – whether you’re a freelance writer, journalist, photographer or anything else, really. The workshop will teach you the basics of negotiation – as well as some more in depth information on how to negotiate when working for yourself.
