Saturday 25th March at 11am sees Scottish champions, Mac & Wild, welcome all mothers, sons and daughters to their Devonshire Square restaurant for a morning of bubbles and flower arranging, hosted by HoneyBunch London’s founder, Annie Wallis, followed by brunch.
The Idea: One of our favourite Mother’s Day Ideas in London; treat your mum to a morning of blossoming bunches, bubbles and brunch at Mac & Wild’s Devonshire Square restaurant. Guests will learn how to create, and take home, a beautiful bunch of hand tied spring flowers inspired by the blossoming Scottish Highlands, whilst sipping on a glass of prosecco. Afterwards, guests will head upstairs to the main restaurant to feast from Mac & Wild’s tasty Wild Brunch. Brunch includes crushed avocado on sourdough, banana and pecan pancakes with sweet cream and honey and cured Scottish salmon with scrambled eggs.

What: Bypass the Eggs Benedict, pass on pancakes and forgo the avocado, this Mother’s Day it’s time to experience brunch Basque-style from Eneko at One Aldwych. What’s more, this Sunday, Eneko is offering mums complimentary glass of Cava and dessert when enjoying their newly-launched Sunday brunch.
The Idea: Three Michelin-starred chef Eneko Atxa has taken inspiration from his home town of Bilbao to create London’s first Basque brunch. The menu is influenced by a quartet of Basque culinary styles – Euskal Azoka (street food), Gallinero (eggs), Txoko (classics) and Asador (grill) for guests to mix-and-match, or opt for the new brunch tasting menu from £50 per person. For drinks, Eneko has created the Golden Mary, with spice-infused vodka, golden tomato juice and celery foam, which compliments the food. Yes, please.

What: This Mother’s Day, Sheraton Grand London Park Lane’s classic Italian restaurant, Mercante, will be serving up a special Italian twist to the typical Mother’s Day brunch. The restaurant will not be celebrating the usual British Mother’s Day, but the Italian Festa Della Mamma.
The Idea: The marketplace-inspired restaurant is bringing Italy to the capital and offering diners the chance to call their mother’s around the world for free to show their appreciation – just like the Italians do every year! Mercante will also be gifting all Mammas who dine in the restaurant with traditional heart-shaped Festa Della Mamma cakes. Made with love, fresh raspberries and heartwarming chocolate, Mercante’s delizioso sweet treat is inspired by the classic cake given to Italian mothers every year by their families.

What: For contemporary art connoisseurs, Gallery Mess at The Saatchi Gallery is the only place to be this Mother’s Day. The bright, airy and stylish dining room is offering a special menu on 26th March for something extra special.
The Idea: Dishes include red mullet escabeche with sage, tapenade croûte and coriander, confit lamb shoulder with fricassee of beans, tomato and mint jus and poached sea trout with mussel broth, spinach and samphire. Make a real day of it with a breeze around the gallery or hit the shops on the King’s Road for some retail therapy.

What: One of our favourite Mother’s Day ideas in London for a long, leisurely lunch. This Sunday 26th March, Aster are celebrating Mother’s Day the Nordic way, with the ultimate three-course lunch menu for you and your mum in the restaurant from 12-4pm exclusively on Sunday. Hello, Mimosas.
The Idea: Taking inspiration from Nordic hygge culture, sink your teeth into the best Nordic and French inspired lunch. And feel free to bring the kids, if they’re under twelve they dine for free. The Idea: Delicious dishes include Lobster Benedict, whole Goosnargh chicken, raw or dressed oysters and caviar served from the caviar trolley. The Idea: Michelin-starred chef Shaun Rankin grew up helping his mother in the kitchen and, thanks to her, knew from a young age that he wanted to be a chef. Now, treat your own mum to a luxurious Sunday afternoon tea experience at the celebrity chef’s new London restaurant Ormer Mayfair. Sink into your seat and sip on champagne admiring the stunning 1930s interior alongside Rankin’s delectable sandwiches, scones and petit fours.

What: Looking for meaty Mother’s Day ideas in London? Steak aficionados, Smith & Wollensky will be serving a very special four-course menu this Sunday – the perfect Mother’s Day treat.
The Idea: Begin with an amuse bouche of seared salmon and cream cheese roulade with Avruga caviar, followed by seared chilli and garlic shrimp, chicken avocado salad or sirloin carpaccio to start. Mains include new season saddle of lamb with herb and mustard crust, slow roast USDA Prime rib of beef with Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings or for a £20 supplement indulge in the Kansas City Bone-In Sirloin 595g with creamed spinach and French fries. Finish on a sweet note with sherry trifle, profiteroles, ice cream or sorbet, followed by Madeleines and tea or coffee for petits fours.

The Idea: Need more Mother’s Day ideas in London? The award-winning Hoppers in Soho is hosting a 6-course Amma’s Feast on Sunday 26th March to celebrate all the mothers out there. Exchanging recipes plays an important role in Sri Lankan culture and cuisine and so this mother’s day, the team at Hoppers will be celebrating with a set menu of exclusive recipes that have been contributed by the Ammas (mothers) of the Hoppers team.
