A new season at Street Feast means a truck load of new food and new booze up for grabs. Two of their cosy warm warehouses, Hawker House and Public, are now full of brand new, delicious things to eat, and Dinerama is roofed, winter-proof and number one on your must visit list for fantastic new drinks in east London. Here’s what’s new to the menu:

Hawker House, Canada Water

For Barbecued Veggies: Root & Coal

The Lowdown: Root & Coal’s vegetarian barbecue has landed at Hawker House. Founded by the boys behind Raclette Brothers, their focus is quality produce cooked over hot coals: no fake meat or substitutes, just veggies done brilliantly. Dishes including sweetcorn ribs with apricot BBQ sauce and celeriac remoulade, and crispy aubergine with walnut batter, whipped feta and pomegranate, plus some serious sides. (Side note: the buffalo cauliflower with celery salt and cauliflower ‘mayo’ is dribble-inducing.)

For Beefy Wonders: Black Bear Burger

The Lowdown: Black Bear Burger has moved into the corner of Canada Water and if you haven’t tried one of their perfect patties yet, head to Hawker House sharpish. Order the classic Black Bear with an aged beef patty, American cheese, onion jam, pancetta bacon and garlic mayo, or upgrade to a mountain of pulled beef brisket. And it’s imperative you order a side of their melty mac n’ cheese.

Public, Woolwich

For Indian Fare: Raastawala

The Lowdown: Warm up inside Street Feast’s Woolwich warehouse with Raastawala’s spicy Kolkata street food. Tuck into a Kati Roll – pillowy garlic and coriander naan stuffed with tender chicken or lamb marinated in Indian spices, topped with salads and home-made sauces, with a side of loaded masala fries. The stuff of dreams.

For Dessert: Panache

The Lowdown: Panache is Public’s new one-stop pudding shop. Get ready for the best ice cream in SE18 served in a crunchy cone or on a fluffy Belgian waffle, with sticky sauces and sweet toppings. Bring the kids down for a Belgian dark chocolate or cookies and cream, while you try one of their booze-infused ice creams including Espresso Martini and sloe gin and blueberry.

For Winter Warmers: Dick’s Magic T-Bar

The Lowdown: Get ready for Dick’s Magic T-Bar, Dinerama’s cosy alpine lodge, returning to a rooftop near you this October. Expect log burning fires, mountain views, Frozen Toffee Vodka and Hot Wine. All the magic of après without the soggy socks.
