Pizza Pilgrims are showing some love to pizza and wine in its first-ever ‘Pizza Academy’ event, Club Del Vino. For those with a penchant for crispy crusts and Chardonnay should head to the Pizza Pilgrims City (Old Broad Street) on Friday 5th November for an evening of carefully curated Italian wine and pizza pairings.
Pizza Pilgrim’s Club Del Vino: The Lowdown
Club Del Vino will be a culinary journey around Italy, based on founders Thom and James’ life-changing pilgrimage to Naples back in 2011. It will be a chance to learn about what makes pizza in Naples so special such as the flour from the famous Caputo Mill, while exploring everything from the flavours of Prosecco and Mushroom and Truffle to Montepulciano and Nduja.
Hosted by wine sommelier extraordinaire, Debbie Kerr from Milton Sanford wines, expect an authentic Mediterranean roundtrip starting with antipasti, followed by pizza and wine pairings, and ending the experience in true Italian style with a shot of espresso. Pizza and wine pairings range from Mushroom and Truffle with a glass of Pinot Grigio Anselmi, Guisseppi and Luigi Friuli, and Nduja, served with Bajo Montepulciano, Cantine Ilauri Abruzzo.
