About Time: You Celebrated Thanksgiving at Sea ContainersBy Angelica Malin
Pass the cranberry sauce. Mondrian London is bringing Thanksgiving to this side of the Atlantic with a giant feast at Sea Containers on Thursday 26th November. We think it’s quite unfair that Brits only get to eat turkey, stuffing, gravy and unheard of amounts of chocolate once a year when Americans get to do it twice. For £65 per person, enjoy winter smoked salmon, turkey and pecan pie will all the trimmings. Here’s what to expect:
The Mondrian is one of London’s leading design-inspired hotels; it’s all-day restaurant Sea Containers is beautiful – light, airy, super stylish – the kind of place perfect for everything from dates, to group dinners, and taking your mum. There’s an open kitchen, wood-fire oven, central “diner” bar, floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor seating for the summer months. Overlooking the river, the restaurant’s windows allow you a beautiful glimpse of the world outside. Just by the water, it’s perfect for exploring the weekend markets of the Southbank, too.
Starters include a wood roasted celeriac soup with winter truffles, while main course options include a roasted Norfolk Turkey with mushroom pine nut stuffing, crispy fried Brussels sprouts, Sobrassada sausage, roasted potatoes, turkey sherry vinaigrette and the healthier option of a Thanksgiving warm salad. Desserts include a pumpkin pie cheesecake and a brown butter pecan pie. The menu is priced at £65 per person and can be found here.
