1. For a New Opening: The Salad Project 

The Lowdown: A fresh take on healthy lunches has arrived in Spitalfields. The Salad Project centres customer experience and enjoyment above all else, ensuring that each guest can fully customise their salads from start to finish.

Eat and Drink: Guests are invited to build their bowl as they move along the central salad bar, selecting The Base; that includes quinoa, rice, kale, rocket and more, customers then move over to select The Toppings from the extensive menu which includes parsley, apples, chargrilled broccoli caramelised red onions, sweet potatoes and others. The Headliners, of which 90% are warm for a more enjoyable salad, create the focus of the meal and here customers can add burrata, salmon, and other delicious morsels.

2. For a Lunchtime Deal: Heddon Yokocho 

The Lowdown: To celebrate their re-opening and welcome back guests, each week from Monday to Wednesday, Heddon Yokocho will offer a special Ramen of the Week for just £8.

Eat and Drink: Throughout the summer Heddon Yokocho will work through its vibrant and flavour filled menu that explores the delicious differences in regional Japanese ramen, one bowl at a time.To name just a few coming up over the next couple of weeks. The Yokocho: a soy-based chicken and pork broth ramen with slices of BBQ pork and topped with menma bamboo shoots, naruto fish cake, whole nitamago egg &andnori seaweed; and Sapporo Miso: a deep and flavourful miso-based chicken and pork broth ramen, with BBQ pork belly, minced pork, pak choi, nitamago egg, & nori seaweed. Finally, Vegan Napoli:a tomato-based ramen with grilled tomato & mushroom topped with basil and vegan cheese.

3. For a New Menu: La Bodega Negra

The Lowdown: Soho’s inimitable dining destination La Bodega Negra has reopened with a new Head Chef Gustavo Giallonardo at the helm and a modernised Mexican menu. Gustavo as created a modern Mexican food offering, in keeping with La Bodega Negra’s ethos of using the freshest, in-season produce whilst reinventing Mexican cuisine for the contemporary palate.

Eat and Drink: Highlights include Scallop tiradito with serrano, aguachile and kolrhabi; Taco al pastor, pineapple pico de gallo and salsa verde; Pork chop with pasilla negra salsa and sweet potato; and a Black mole quesadilla with truffle, Monterey cheese and salsa verde’. Any Mexican cuisine gastronome will know the expertise and superior technique employed in to perfecting a mole, and Gustavo Giallonardo’s unique black truffle mole blends chilli, sesame, peanuts, chocolate, pumpkin seeds, dried grapes, and truffle, amongst other ingredients, to excite the taste buds. The full menu is available in the main restaurant whilst Upstairs at La Bodega offers a smaller selection of dishes.

4. For a Collaborative Dish: Tandoor Chop House x Tom Ceni

The Lowdown: Tandoor Chop House has welcomed Tom Cenci,current resident chef at Stoney Street, to take to the tandoor alongside naan master Kundan Singh.

Eat and Drink: Landing on the menu Thursday 1st Julyfor just two months, Tom’s naan features: Confit duck leg, served with spring onion, chives and green chill, finished with peanut brittle, pink peppercorns and a miso caramel. Throughout the collaboration, £1 from every dish will be donated to Beder – a charity working to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention.

5. For a New Afternoon Tea: PAUL Bakery 

The Lowdown: PAUL Bakery has launched its new Afternoon Tea Selection featuring both sweet and savoury creations, all lovingly handcrafted by the master bakers at PAUL.

Eat and Drink: Enjoy freshly prepared artisan brioche sandwiches including ham and cheese; tomato, mozzarella and pesto; and chicken salad; delicate pâtisserie such as strawberry, caramel and frangipane tartelettes; and an assortment of mini macarons and scones with clotted cream and jam to round off the experience.
