Take it from us, this feature will banish any Monday blues. If you’ve spent too much at the weekend, there’s a huge fried chicken giveaway (so much free poultry). And if you need a sweet fill, Shake Shack have pulled out all the stops with their new creation. Time to feast:

1. For a New Collaboration: Honest Burgers x Kricket

What: Shut the food door, this is the hottest collab since Beyonce’s Ivy Park collection at Topshop. Honest Burgers has teamed up with well-loved Indian small plate resturant, Kricket for a hot new burger. A bigger, burger version of Kricket’s signature Keralan Fried Chicken, this is the first time the Honest Burgers’ gang have chosen to skip the beef and serve a fried chicken burger instead.

Why: Available from Tuesday (24th October) until November, the burger features a secret blend of Keralan herbs and spices and a chilli and garlic mayo, with the new special paying homage to the South Indian flavours that have inspired Kricket’s co-founders Will Bowlby and Rik Campbell. Each chicken thigh is marinated for 24 hours in yoghurt, buttermilk, coriander, fresh green chillies and chilli flakes, then it’s stuffed into a fluffy bap and topped with pickled mooli, chilli garlic mayo, spring onion and lettuce, and served with Honest Burgers’ famed rosemary salted chips.

2. For a New Breakfast Menu: Brindisa Soho

What: The chillier weather means we’re now reaching for heartier, warming breakfast options. We’re glad to hear Brinidisa Soho received the memo, as their new breakfast menu is centred around ‘tostas’, or ‘tostados’, a traditional Spanish breakfast that’s a staple morning ritual across households in Spain. Forgo your bowl of Alpen for one of these carby, cheesy beauties.

Why: Founder Monika Linton and Head Chef Josep Carbonell have created six seasonal tostas’ dishes that reflect the simplicity of Spanish cooking. The Mahon y Sobrasada features tangy, pimenton rind-washed cheese with spicy and soft island sausage, a cousin to nduja, and the Jamón Ibérico de Bellota with Ibérico ham and tomato showcases the best of Brindisa’s speciality ham. Also on the menu is the humus y grenada with humus, pomegrate, pickled radish and nuts; the Bauma y Melocotón with ‘La Bauma’ goat’s curd and peach; and the Aguacate y Huevo, a veggie friendly combo of avocado, sweetcorn and poached egg. And if you’re missing a taste of the sea in the morning, the Cangrejo y Huevo with Cornish crab and poached egg is the classic ‘fisherman’s breakfast’.

3. For a New Opening: Smoking Goat

What: After smashing it out the park with their glorious Thai barbecue eats in Soho, the Smoking Goat team are heading east to open their second restaurant on Redchurch Street. Inspired by Bangkok’s late night canteen spots, Smoking Goat Redchurch Street will reflect that atmosphere; icy beer, a mixture of comfort dishes from the woks, and spicy seafood from the open barbecues. And it’s opening on Friday (27th October).

Why: The menu will largely comprise of a ‘Aharn Glam Lao’ (drinking food) section featuring steamed oysters with burnt chilli and fermented shrimp; herbal blood sausage; stir fried greens with salt fish; and spicy offal laabs. Larger dishes include; soya braised chickens from Bangkok’s Chinatown; a Northern Thai turmeric variant on massaman smoked goat; smoked point end brisket; and garlic chive hand made bouncy egg noodles. Alongside these comforting dishes will be D’tom Yam Nam Sai’; an unapologetically sour, spicy cousin to creamy Tom Yam made with sweet velvet crabs and cockles.

What: We like Shake Shack’s thinking. To celebrate the new opening of their Cambridge Circus Shack, the Shake Shack team will be dishing up  a number of new acts, available exclusively in the heart of London’s West End. Showcasing some of their favourite London producers, Shake Shack is joining forces with a line-up of locals for one-off creations. First up: Crosstown Doughnuts.

The CrissCross will feature the Crosstown Black Forest Cake Doughnut: a chocolate cake dough topped with a white chocolate glaze and finished with a dark chocolate crumb, a festive sprinkling of icing sugar and a praline almond shard.
