National Prosecco Day has landed (Tuesday 13th August) and to celebrate the nation’s favourite tipple we’ve put together a roundup of the best prosecco cocktail recipes to drink at home. From full-bodied flavour to light summer notes and even an elegant alcohol-free version, it’s time to try prosecco with a twist:

The Brockmans French 75

The Brockmans French 75 is a contemporary sparkling twist on the classic French 75. A perfect accompaniment to prosecco, Brockmans 75 gin has elegant berry and citrus notes that create a balanced and sophisticated cocktail.   

Ingredients:

– 50ml Brockmans Gin 

– 25ml Freshly squeezed lemon juice

– 15ml Sugar syrup

– Prosecco 

– Twist of lemon zest to garnish 

Method: 

Shake the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup with ice. Strain into a champagne flute and top with Prosecco. Garnish with a twist of lemon zest and serve. 

Cranes Crambellini 

This Prosecco Day, get creative with your favourite glass of fizz by adding a drop of Cranes Cranberry & Orange Liqueur to the mix. Handcrafted in Cambridge, this award-winningly smooth liqueur is made from natural ingredients, with over 115 cranberries going into each 50cl bottle. 

Ingredients:

– 1 Part Cranes Liqueur 

– 4 Parts Prosecco

Method: 

Chill a champagne flute (either in the fridge or with ice). Pour 4 parts Prosecco into your chilled glass. Add 1 part Cranes Cranberry & Blood Orange Liqueur to the top of your glass then stir and serve. 

Cup DOC Cocktail 

In celebration of National Prosecco Day, talented bartenders Alessandro Geraci of The Chiltern Firehouse and Gaspare Di Carlo of Sky Garden have concocted three sensational Prosecco DOC cocktails which you can recreate at home. The first, Cup DOC Cocktail is a magical mix of citrus tang and sea salt that gives your prosecco glass a rich depth of flavour. 

Ingredients:

– 30ml Italicus Liqueur 

– 15ml Grapefruit juice

– Pinch of sea salt 

–  Mionetto Prosecco DOC Brut Treviso 

Method: 

Combine all ingredients together except the Prosecco. Pour into a tall glass over ice and top up with Mionetto Prosecco Doc Brut Treviso.

La Bora

Alessandro Geraci and Gaspare Di Carlo return with an icy twist to the fizzy tipple. Made with citrus sorbet and Italian vodka, it brings a taste of the Mediterranean to your home. 

Ingredients:

– 10ml Italian vodka (Try Blu Lie Vodka)

– Thyme 

– Scoop of citrus sorbet 

– Ponte Prosecco DOC Extra Dry Treviso 

Method: 

Combine all ingredients together except the Prosecco. Pour into a coupette glass over ice and top with Ponte Prosecco DOC Extra Dry Treviso. 

Chinò

The last of Gaspare and Alessandro’s cocktail creations is the height of Italian sophistication in a glass. A full-bodied and refreshing cocktail with notes of sweet and bitter oranges, it’s guaranteed to be a hit this National Prosecco Day. 

Ingredients:

– 30ml Muyu Chinotto Nero 

– 10ml Martini Ambrato

– Fresh mint

– 47 Anno Domini Bio Vegan Prosecco DOC Frizzante 

Method: 

Combine all ingredients together except the Prosecco. Pour into a Highball over ice and top up with 47 Anno Domini Bio Vegan Prosecco DOC Frizzante. 

St-Germain Spritz 

Raise your glass to National Prosecco Day with this simple, elegant and quintessentially French cocktail of the summer. 

Ingredients:

– 40ml St-Germain

– 60ml Prosecco

– 60ml Sparkling water 

– Slice of lemon to garnish

Method: 

Mix all ingredients over ice in a collins glass. Add a slice of lemon to garnish and serve. 

Mionetto Classic Bellini 

The original recipe for this juicy summer aperitif was made in Harry’s Bar in Venice. With two parts of crips prosecco to one-part white peach purée and a dash of raspberry or cherry juice, it makes for a deliciously fruity aperitif. 

Ingredients: 

– 60ml Peach purée

– 120ml Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso 

– Dash of raspberry or cherry juice 

Method: 

Pour the Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso into a champagne flute. Top with peach purée. Add a dash of raspberry or cherry juice and enjoy!

Mionetto Aperol Spritz 

Refreshing and citrusy, the vibrant Aperol Spritz has a slightly bitter kick that provides a blissful refreshment under the late afternoon sun. 

Ingredients:

– 75ml Chilled Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso 

– 50ml Aperol

– 20ml Chilled soda 

– Ice cubes

– Orange slice 

Method: 

Fill a tall balloon or wine glass generously with ice cubes then combine Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso with Aperol. Add a splash of soda and garnish with a slice of fresh orange. 

Mionetto Arancia Spritz 

The spritz, which is thought to have originated in Venice under the Austrian Empire, is a combination of orange and fizz to make your National Prosecco Day celebration a delicious one. 

Ingredients:

– 85ml Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso

– 55ml San Pellegrino Aranciata 

– 30ml Campari 

– Orange slice

– Fresh basil 

Method: 

Combine all the ingredients in a wine glass, except the Prosecco. Add ice and stir to chill then top with Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso. Garnish with a slice of orange and a sprig of fresh basil.
