February may be the shortest month, but London’s kitchens aren’t holding back. From new openings and collaborative menus to Lunar New Year specials and serious comfort food, there’s plenty worth leaving the house for.

1. For a Pasta Love-In: Gloria Shoreditch

What: Gloria Shoreditch brings back its legendary 10-level lasagna for the whole of February, celebrating the restaurant’s seventh anniversary and 10 years of Big Mamma. £1 from every portion goes to the Felix Project.

Eat: A towering, indulgent creation of homemade pasta, rich ragu alla Bolognese, creamy béchamel, Parmigiano and mozzarella fior di latte. A very, not-so-little slice of heaven.

Where: 54-56 Great Eastern St, London EC2A 3QR

2. For Luna New Year Specials: TOKKIA

What: Lunar New Year just got a matcha makeover. TOKKIA, the newest Korean matcha spot in Seven Dials, has launched a limited-edition collection celebrating traditional Korean flavours with a playful London twist.

Eat: Expect injeolmi, the nutty, subtly sweet Korean rice cake, reimagined as an Injeolmi Vanilla Matcha Latte, a roasted Hojicha Latte, and a Injeolmi Salt Bread. Divine.

3. For New York-Style ‘Za: Hot Saint Pizza

What: Islington favourite The Old Queen’s Head launches Hot Saint Pizza, a New York–style menu crafted by ex-Dough Hands chef Tom Budakan, bringing creative twists to classic pizza pies.

Eat: We’re talking about protein, 48-hour fermented dough with just a hint of rye for a nutty chew and crisp crust. Toppings include Spicy Hawaiian with guanciale, smoked ham hock and jalapeños, Meatball Ricotta with house meatballs and parmesan, and Vodka Pesto with stracciatella and vodka sauce. Pizza sandwiches include the likes of the Spicy Chicken Parm or House Meatball, plus banana miso soft serve for pud.

4. For a Year of the Horse Menu: BAO

What: BAO is ushering in the Year of the Horse with a limited-edition Lunar New Year menu, running until 26th February across all sites. Get ready for symbolic dishes, a punchy cocktail and even a horse-shaped BAO to mark the occasion.

Eat: The Dark Horse set menu begins with your pick of BAO, from braised pork belly to beef short rib or vegan daikon, followed by Taiwanese fried chicken with in-house hot sauce. There’s Hispi cabbage with XO sauce (Soho and Borough) or mushroom dumplings in chive oil elsewhere, plus a prosperity-tossing salmon salad (yu sheng) for a bit of theatrical good fortune. The finale? Chilli crab noodles (or rice) with tempura crab legs and salmon roe, served with a quirky (and v delicious) horse-shaped bun.

5. For a Collaborative Ramadan Menu: Bombay Bustle x Pernia Qureshi

What: Bombay Bustle marks Ramadan with a collaborative feasting menu created with founder Samyukta Nair’s friend, fashion entrepreneur Pernia Qureshi. Launching 17th February, the menu celebrates the culinary traditions of Rampur, drawing on recipes from Pernia’s cookbook Ammi’s Kitchen and the memory of her grandmother’s table.

Eat: The feast begins with fruit chaat, dates and rose sherbet, before moving into kathal kebabs of green jackfruit and mutton seekh. Mains include comforting Chicken Kali Mirch, rich Paneer Pasanda and Pernia’s favourite, Yakhi Pulao. It ends, as all good celebrations should, with phirni, a delicately spiced rice pudding scented with green cardamom.
