About Time: You Discovered Thermomix TM7By Adam Hassanali
The Thermomix TM7 is finally here, and people are talking about it. This new machine from Vorwerk which can do the job of twenty other kitchen tools, like blenders and slow cookers. Is it really that great, or just another expensive gadget that’ll sit on your counter? We tried it out for a week to see how it works in real life.
The Lowdown
In the first instance what is a Thermomix? A Thermomix is an all-in-one German-made multi-cooker by Vorwerk that combines multiple kitchen appliances, including a food processor, blender, cooker, steamer, and scale, to chop, blend, cook, stir, knead, weigh, and more, all guided by an integrated touchscreen and the Cookidoo recipe platform.
Building on the success of the TM6, the Thermomix TM7 introduces several upgrades designed to make cooking faster, quieter, and more intuitive:
• 10-inch touch display – a bigger, brighter screen for following recipes step by step.
• Quieter motor & insulated bowl – no more shouting over the machine while it blends.
• Expanded Varoma steamer – 45% more space for multi-layer meals.
• Open Cooking mode – lets you cook with the lid off at low speeds for delicate finishes.
• Future-ready software – with updates expected to bring voice control and AI features.
Testing the TM7 out the step-by-step cooking guide is really useful and definitely supports you in cooking dishes out of your usual comfort zone. Cooking a whole meal at once saves time and especially when cooking larger meals is a lot more efficient. It’s much quieter than older Thermomix models and also looks stylish on your counter. We struggled when cooking chicken and mince, we found the mince dishes like chili con carne left the meat chunky and shredded chicken came out quite watery. We also found when boiling or heating water lifting the lift you would be welcomed by a ball of steam or boiling droplets.
Our Thermomix Week
To see if the TM7 could actually replace other appliances, we cooked with it for a week. Each day, we tried something different:
* Day 1 – Comfort Food: Beef stew with mashed potatoes.
* Day 2 – Healthy Meal: Salmon, broccoli, and quinoa using the steamer.
* Day 3 – Dessert: Chocolate mousse.
* Day 4 – Pasta: Homemade gnocchi.
* Day 5 – Quick Lunch: Gazpacho in under 15 minutes.
* Day 6 – Weekend Dessert: Apple tart with browned edges,.
* Day 7 – Big Meal: Chicken curry, rice, all cooked together
We ended up using the oven and stove much less, and cleanup was easier. The Thermomix TM7 isn’t for everyone. If you enjoy cooking with regular pots and pans, this might be too automated for you. But it’s great for busy people, families, or anyone who wants to try new recipes without the hassle. All of the recipes we tried on the 7 day challenge were excellent it was when we ventured into the wider app we came upon some recipes that did not come out as great.
The Verdict
The Thermomix TM7 doesn’t take away the fun of cooking but makes it easier. After using it for a week, we found that it made cooking on weekdays simpler and healthier. We also took the chocolate mousse to a dinner party and guests claimed it was restaurant quality. Overall the TM7 is an incredible addition to any kitchen, it can help you expand your repertoire of dishes and eat in more (saving money at restaurants). Is it a must have? no but if if you struggle with your diet or managing to make meals at home then this might be worth it for you.
If you’re not sure, try using it every day for a week and see if you like it. You might find you can’t live without it.
