Since their opening 5 years ago on the corner of a busy street in Fitzrovia, Muse of London have firmly cemented themselves as thee place in London to visit for bouncy blow dries, timeless haircuts and natural dye jobs. And yet – it’s not just a salon, rather a beauty destination – offering manicures, hair removal, later treatments, and semi permanent makeup as well as their show-stopping colour services.

Muse of London: The Lowdown

This salon is designed for workaholics, time-stretched ladies and quickie after-work types. They have a range of services, all of which can be squeezed in post-work – as the salon is open until 9pm. You can come here on a lunch, opt for a wash and blow dry (you can choose the style – think sleek and smooth, loose curls, or big hair and volume) and be out within the hour, and it’ll only set you back £25 (a bargain in this day and age).

The salon is playful and fun; staff are approachable, and a complimentary consultation is available which is ideal for talking though ideas of your needs and requirements for your next chop/colour change.

Muse of London: The Services

To coincide with their 5th birthday party celebrations, the salon recently teamed up with TIGI Copyright Colours to created a new colour campaign which focuses on chocolate hair colours. Fear not – you won’t look like a Dairy Milk Tray, instead the Chocolate Crusade Campaign consists of six chocolate shades using TIGI Copyright Colours: White Chocolate Praline, Melted Chocolate Mousse, Champagne Truffle, Strawberry Ganache, Cinnamon Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate, with options ranging from highlights to baby lights, and lowlights to all over tints. As a serial blonde bleacher (I know, my hair hates me), I chose the White Chocolate Praline which boasted hues of various blondes, infused with glimmers of caramel – and not only suited my skin completion, but I left walking away with natural looking blonde rather than the God awful brassy blonde that I’ve ended up with a fair few times. The staff use TIGI Copyright Colour, a luxurious conditioning product that builds up the strength of your hair, ensuring colour fade is minimal and add the most dazzling shine to the dullest of barnets.

And if you don’t fancy a chocolate inspired makeover, the salon are a dab hand at other colour services too. Their colour remit is wide and varied: beautiful sun kissed balayage, weird and wonderful colours, and full on colour change are all yours for the asking. The team will take your tired, old looking hair and return it to you fresh, repaired and with a new lease of life. Whatever stylist you end up with – you’re in safe hands. And as for the cut, the team of scissor wizards are helpful and friendly with your hair styling requests, and will help with talking you through styles that will suit your money maker. In short, they’re top notch.

Whatever you visit Muse of London for – a quick blow dry, a full on hair transformation or a mani – the staff are warm and inviting, and you’ll leave feeling like a right belle. As did I.
