What’s better than a bit of Downward Dog looking out at the city skyline? If you fancy yoga with a difference this month, here’s five new places to try:
1. Yummy Yoga: Sky High Yoga at Sky Garden
What: Take the Downward Dog to new highs at London’s hottest new spot for sky yoga. Sky Garden has launched a limited series of sunrise yoga sessions; set against a backdrop of incredible city views and Sky Garden’s luscious tropical greenery, classes will be taught by the renowned Issy Scobie from Flex London.
When: Starting on Wednesday July 22nd, sunrise yoga will take place every following Wednesday at 6.30am.
Details: Classes cost just £10.00 and all participants can enjoy a delicious pick-me-up smoothie, with compliments of Love Taste, before they leave to start their day. Waking up surrounded by panoramic views and super smoothies – a better start to the day would be hard to find!
2. Dancing Yoga: House of Voga at Coq d’Argent
What: Coq d’Argent has teamed up with House of Voga to host monthly Voga classes. A fusion between yoga and vogueing (a highly stylised dance form to 80s music), Voga is for everyone – all ages, skill levels and fitness levels – offering the chance to workout in stylish outfits while bringing nightlife cool into the realm of sweat and lycra. When: Classes will be held on the last Sunday of every month in Coq d’ Argent’s stunning rooftop garden, and participants are invited to strike a pose surrounded by spectacular views over the City.
Details: Classes, priced at £15 per person, will be taking place between 11am and 12pm on the following Sundays. The next class is Sunday 26th July and the last Sunday of every month from then on.
3. Power Yoga: Rumpus Room at Mondrian London
What: Sunrise Yoga on the rooftop at Rumpus Room in Mondrian London is one of the three best ways to start the week. Using a unique fusion of Ashtanga, Hatha and Vinyasa yoga to heat up the body, the classes are designed to cleanse and purify the mind, body and soul, allowing you to start the week on a note of utter calm.
When: Classes run every Monday from 7.20am-8.30am
Details: Each session is taken by Rebecca Keenaghan, an experienced yoga instructor who draws inspiration from various forms of the ancient healing art – the class is open to all from beginners to advanced. Classes cost £20 for day guests (£17 for hotel guests) – reserve your place by calling the spa on 020 3747 1010.
4. Panoramic Yoga: Yogasphere at The View from The Shard
What: Yogasphere offers incredible yoga at the top of The Shard. At a height of 1,016ft, The Shard is the tallest building in Europe and a dynamic symbol of the capitals skyline, recognisable throughout the world. Their special yoga classes here offer unrivalled 360 degree views over London for up to 40 miles!
When: Saturdays at 08:30 – check in by 08.15 includes viewing time before and after class. See the schedule here.

5. Outdoor Yoga: Fat Buddha Yoga at Dalston Roof Park
What: Fat Buddha Yoga is a modern approach to the ancient art and science of Yoga for the next generation of urban yogis founded by DJ and Yoga junkie Jessica Skye. The FBY mission is to clear the mystique around Yoga by providing an accessible and fun approach for all levels ranging from Yoga virgins, rookies to pros with the five class types. We love the class held at Dalston Roof Top.
When: Every Saturday – 11:00 – 12:00 at Dalston Roof Park, 18 Ashwin Street E8 3DL
