Love Island Stars in US Trip Chaos – Alexandra Cane Misses Flight and Wes Nelson Nearly Misses His!

They had viewers hooked on Love Island all summer and now some of the boys have jetted off on an unofficial Love Island reunion. Stars from the villa Wes Nelson, Adam Collard, Jack Fowler and Sam Bird decided to relive their Love Island experience by heading off for a lads’ holiday to LA this week but Wes Nelson nearly missed out.

As Jack Fowler shared on his Instagram story, Wes had to quickly reapply for his ESTA after his initial application had included the incorrect passport number. With just minutes to spare, his application was approved, leaving him able to join the rest of the boys on their fun filled trip to Los Angeles.

Wes had clearly been pretty stressed by the whole situation, with pictures showing Jack Fowler hugging him in excited relief on the floor at the airport’s passenger gates.

Not only would the lads have missed him, his rumoured new girlfriend, Lissy Roddy was also pictured jetting to LA, which set tongues wagging about whether she was gate-crashing the lads holiday. Wes met Lissy recently in Dublin and if she is in fact meeting up with him in LA, this surely confirms that they have formed a new hot coupling, following his split from fellow Love Island Megan Barton-Hanson.

What is an ESTA and why did Wes need one? 

An ESTA enables permission to enter the US and countries that are part of the Visa Waiver Program are able to apply for one rather than applying for a different type of visa. It allows travel for business and tourist purposes – including lots of partying probably in Wes’ case!

As Wes Nelson discovered, it is really important that your ESTA is filled in really carefully when you plan a visit to the US. It is recommended that an ESTA application is submitted at least 72 hours prior to flying to ensure that you get authorisation in time for your flight and don’t have to panic at the departure gates! If you have a trip to the US planned in the future, make sure that you apply well in advance through the website estaform.org.

California beach vibes

The lads wasted no time in making the most of the sunnier surroundings, by heading to the beach to enjoy some chilled beers as they lapped up the California sun. Wes is taking a well-earned break after coming second in Dancing On Ice, narrowly missing out to winner and professional dancer James Jordan.

Wes was not the only star to make an ESTA error. Alexandra Cane suffered even more problems as she missed her flight to LA altogether after she failed to get a new ESTA after her passport had been renewed. She missed her check-in by just four agonising minutes as she hurriedly tried to get her ESTA approved on arrival at the airport.
