If you’d rather be spending your time chowing down on eggs and sourdough this weekend rather than watching repeats of GBBO, then we have just the feature. Here’s our favourite brunch picks this week. Have a good’un, chums:

1. For a Japanese Brunch: Nobu Shoreditch

What: Nobu Shoreditch, the latest addition to the world-renowned Japanese restaurant empire and hotel group has launched a new Sunday brunch showcasing some of Nobu’s signature classics alongside unique new dishes.

Eat and Drink: Brunch begins with a classic dish of edamame alongside parmesan truffle rice toban, and throughout brunchers are invited to take advantage of the exclusive Brunch Bar, offering a variety of classic Nobu dishes including the restaurant’s signature sushi and sashimi. Highlights include: yellowtail jalapeño; tenderloin tataki; chicken karage; and Japanese beef stew. This is followed by three rounds of specially created sharing dishes exclusive to Nobu Shoreditch, including: baby corn tempura with yuzu kosho honey aioli; roasted short ribs with aji matsuhisa sauce; gyoza with butter ponzu and eel sauce; grouper tempura with amazu ponzu; and grilled skirt steak with honey truffle teriyaki and mixed sautéed vegetables. There’s puddings too.

2. For a Rooftop Brunch: Skylounge

What: Fancy a brunch with a side of killer views? Rooftop restaurant Skylounge situated atop of DoubleTree by Hilton, Tower of London has unveiled a brand new brunch menu. Available every Saturday and Sunday pay £38 for two courses plus 90 minutes of  free-flowing Bolla Prosecco.

Eat and Drink: If savoury floats your boat, there’s smashed avocado and poached eggs on sourdough toast; eggs Florentine; chargrilled flat iron steak served with balsamic onions, roasted peppers and rocket; and roasted salmon fillet with pearl barley, asparagus and dill salad. Now, pals, there’s a brunch pizza and it’s nothing short of some sort of mid-morning miracle. What you’re presented with is a pizza topped with pancetta, egg, mushroom, basil, mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. The sweet selection is strong, and features warm pancake topped with pistachio ice cream and warm Nutella sauce; Belgian waffle dried with Acacia honey; and churros served with dulce de leche sauce.

3. For an Italian Brunch: Fucina

What: Fucina has brought the sunny climes and flavours of the Amalfi coast to Marylebone with their new set brunch menu featuring a modern Italian take on breakfast and lunch classics complemented by free flowing Aperol Spritzes and Hugos.

Eat and Drink: The seasonal brunch menu, ‘Colazione by Fucina’, includes a range of Italian-inspired dishes created by Executive Chef, Jordan Sclare. Avocado and poached eggs on toast have been given a 2017 update with a mortadella taleggio fondue, while the bubble and squeak risotto has an Italian twist with crispy panko crusted egg and parmesan. For those looking for a taste of Capri, Fucina offers fish cakes with avocado, pancetta lardons, fried egg and taleggio fondue. The brunch menu is divided into three sections – colazione, plate and panetteria – with everyone encouraged to select one option from each, and mixing and matching is encouraged. Variety is the spice of life, people.

4. For a New Brunch Menu: Arthur Hooper’s

What: Arthur Hooper’s is Borough Market’s latest foodie addition. Using local sourced ingredients from Borough market and London based suppliers including Cannon & Cannon, Bread Ahead and Androuet, the restaurant has just rolled out a new weekend brunch menu.

Eat and Drink: Created by chef Lale Oztek, the new brunch menu features toasted homemade brioche with Cornish clotted cream and Morello Cherry jam; baked egg on an aubergine parmigiana; and a delicate hot smoked salmon pate with poached eggs and sourdough toast. Other savoury dishes include menemen served with sourdough toast, heritage tomatoes and black onion seeds, and pork sausages with fried egg and chilli jam on sourdough toast.
