Thanksgiving in London: Slow-Cooked Meats
What: Texas Joe’s Slow Smoked Meats will be celebrating Thanksgiving in true Texan style, bringing an authentic southern flair to the American holiday with an all out Thanksgiving feast on the 24th November.
Eat and Drink: The evening will kick off with a tasting of the award-winning bourbon from Texan distillers Garrison Brothers, followed by a thanksgiving must; turkey, smoked in the restaurant’s custom-made 500-pound capacity rotisserie, bone marrow mash, chipotle glazed sweet potato alongside green bean casserole, smoked creamed corn, Poblano chorizo cornbread dressing and of course, the staple of every Thanksgiving meal: pumpkin pie.

Thanksgiving in London: Pecan Pie
What: Sea Containers, located in the uber trendy Mondrian London on the Southbank, are offering a very special Thanksgiving menu. The transatlantic inspired restaurant will be knocking up a Thanksgiving meal available at lunch and dinner on 24th November.
Eat and Drink: The set menu will include a Glass of Perrier-Jouët Champagne on arrival and a choice of three courses. Starters include butternut squash soup with medjool dates and chestnuts, shrimp mac n’ cheese, and caramelised onion and goat’s cheese tart. For mains, stick to tradition and order the Roasted Norfolk Turkey served with Brussels sprouts, roasted potatoes, and cornbread and sausage stuffing, or the clay-baked half-lobster if you’re feeling fancy. There’s also the veggie option of sweet potato gnocchi with brown butter and sage. And obviously, there’s pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Or pecan pie. Or even apple pie. Spoilt for choice.

Thanksgiving Menus: Special Cakes
3. Dominique Ansel Bakery, Belgravia
What: Following the launch of Dominique Ansel Bakery London last month, Chef Dominique is bringing Thanksgiving tradition across the pond with an assortment of sweet signature pies. Fan-favourites served at Dominique’s famed Pie Nights in New York will be making their British debut, as the London bakery gears up for the holiday.
Eat and Drink: From Wednesday 16th until Sunday 27th November, individual slices of extra-silky pumpkin, salted caramel apple and bourbon pecan pies will be available in-store. To accompany the pies, blossoming hot chocolate – Chef’s homemade hot chocolate, served with a marshmallow flower bud that blooms to reveal a chocolate Bon Bon inside – will also be available to order. Thanksgiving in London: Peanut Butter Tart
4. Christopher’s, Covent Garden
What: Who needs to travel to the states, when you have Christopher’s on your doorstep. Come Thursday, the capital’s original American restaurant has more than one reason to raise a toast, as it celebrates its landmark 25th Anniversary year too. A one-off menu of innovative twists on US classics by Head Chef Francis Agyepong, who has been at the helm twenty-three years. It be served all day from 12pm to 11.30pm, in Christopher’s glamorous dining room, within the Grade II-listed building which was once London’s first casino.
Eat and Drink: Highlights include Maryland crab cake with red pepper mayo and rocket salad, caramelised Orkney scallops with celeriac and truffle cream and sunchoke and ricotta soufflé. You won’t be disappointed with the main dishes – feast on slow-cooked ballotine of organic turkey with corn bread, hazelnut and Michigan cherry stuffing, cranberry relish, buttered beans and creamed potatoes; roast salmon with lobster kale mash, and lemon and dill emulsion and Missouri-rubbed rack of lamb, with pulled lamb and avocado tamale, and confit of butternut squash. There’s peanut butter chocolate tart for dessert. So much yes.

Thanksgiving in London: A Taste of the Southern States
5. The Blues Kitchen, Various Locations
What: The Blues Kitchen’s legendary Thanksgiving feasts are taking place on Thursday (24th November) at Shoreditch, Camden and Brixton. An epic menu awaits, and that’s only the start of it. After the feast, it’ll turn wild as it does every year as people give thanks on the dance floor with live New Orleans brass and piano, rhythm and blues, and soul.
Eat and Drink: The menu includes a New Orleans Gumbo – smoked sausage, chicken, okra, peppers and long grain rice, served with corn bread. Followed by slow-roast turkey and ham served with all the USA trimmings – chestnut stuffing, candied yams, cornbread, carrots, greens, red onion gravy and cranberry sauce. And a sweet potato pie with bourbon and orange cream for dessert.

Thanksgiving in London: A Traditional Feast
What: In honour of the most iconic of the U.S holiday’s, Shotgun BBQ have created a stunning three course Thanksgiving set menu. The menu, a vision of Shotgun’s Executive Chef Brad McDonald, pays homage to a traditional meal that would be served across the pond.
Eat and Drink: The night will begin with a welcome drink, devilled eggs and pimento cheese on arrival. The feast is undoubtedly the show piece of the menu and consists of no less than nine elements and boasts three different meats. The feast, that would make any ex pat or seasoned Thanksgiving expert proud sports smoked heritage breed turkey, USDA smoked brisket, country ham, white bread stuffing, glazed sweet potato, baked potato mash, creamed spinach, coleslaw and Brad’s famous cornbread. If after all that you’ve got room for dessert, there’s pecan pie and banana pudding on offer.

Thanksgiving Menus: A Hotel Affair
What: Brown’s Hotel and HIX Mayfair take one thing very seriously: Thanksgiving. This year, on Thursday (24th November), Executive Chef Lee Kebble and Director of Food Mark Hix will present a feast of dreamy Thanksgiving dishes with a Hix twist.
Eat and Drink: Enjoy a warming woodland mushroom soup, rich with flavour, followed by Roast Holly Farm free-range turkey with autumn greens and cranberry sauce. For dessert, pumpkin pie is elevated with Peruvian gold chocolate. For those looking to continue the celebrations, The Donovan Bar, with its mighty fine cocktail menu, is the perfect place to retire for a cocktail or three.

What: If you’re a home-sick American, or just a fan of pecan pie, than Slap Ya Papa‘s New Orleans-inspired Reveillon Feast is just the ticket. Head to the subterranean setting of The Vaults in Waterloo for a Big Easy style Thanksgiving like no other.
Eat and Drink: Slap Ya Papa‘s Reveillon Feast consists of a 12-dish banquet featuring American classics with a southern twist, including honey-glazed ham, New Orleans styled cajun-roasted deep fried turkey, candied yams, shrimp remoulade and truffled sprouts. To wash down these array of hearty treats will be an assortment of festive cocktails and, of course, a shot of Fireball Cinnamon Whisky to get the party started.

What: To get you into the swing of things this Thanksgiving, the kind folks at The Big Easy are putting on one hell of a Thanksgiving banquet. Last year was a sellout, so get your tickets. Stat.
Eat and Drink: The Big Easy’s family-style dinner features pit-smoked turkey with their secret pan gravy or whole Nova Scotian lobster (if you fancy something a little different this Thanksgiving). Mouthwatering sides include southern slow-cooked cornbread stuffing, velvety sweet potato mash, green bean casserole, and other delicious veggies. No Thanksgiving feast would be complete without indulging in their Jack Daniels infused pumpkin pie.
