Starting February 1st, MiMi Mei Fair, the luxurious Chinese restaurant, will undergo a captivating transformation into a floral wonderland to mark the Chinese New Year. Here’s what you need to know:

MiMi Mei Fair: The Lowdown

Nestled in a Mayfair townhouse, founder Samyukta Nair is set to reintroduce MiMi Mei Fair’s famous wishing tree, adorned in shades of blues, emerald greens, blush pinks, and deep maroon to pay homage to the wood dragon.

Within the elegant parlour and drawing room, two wishing trees will bloom with Medinilla, anthurium, baby’s breath, and hydrangeas. Elaborate gilded cages will dangle from the branches, containing traditional Hong Bao (red envelopes) filled with wishes made by diners for a prosperous year ahead.

MiMi Mei Fair: The Food

Beneath the intricate branches of the wishing tree, a special Chinese New Year menu, featuring traditional festive dishes, will take center stage. The feast kicks off with a Basket of Wealth, showcasing three styles of dim sum, including steamed sea bass, cabbage dumpling, and garlic chive chicken dumpling. The menu progresses with a selection of delectable courses, such as ‘fortune’ crispy Norfolk pork, tiger prawns with egg white and black bean sauce, grilled ginger soya silver cod, and crunchy seasonal vegetables. The grand finale is a dessert comprising a flourless chocolate bar with mandarin & pecan crunch and vanilla bean ice cream, paired perfectly with Courvoisier XO cognac.

MiMi Mei Fair: The Drinks

MiMi Mei Fair, in collaboration with Courvoisier, celebrates the 2024 Year of the Dragon with expertly crafted cocktails and special pairings, including the limited edition release of L’Essence de Courvoisier and Courvoisier XO. Signature cocktails like The Rising Dragon and Imperial Sunset are designed to complement the Chinese New Year dishes.

To add a touch of the dragon spirit, diners can indulge in the Jewel of the Dragon egg, a limited edition chocolate egg filled with chocolate mousse, cherry heart, dragon egg shell vanilla ice cream, and red velvet crumble. This delightful creation pairs seamlessly with L’Essence de Courvoisier.

Founder Samyukta Nair expresses excitement about celebrating the Chinese New Year, exploring the tradition, heritage, and culture of China. The festivities at MiMi Mei Fair, featuring the enchanting wishing tree and new partner Courvoisier, will run from February 1st to February 24th.
