Perhaps the ultimate comfort food, brownies are a little slice of chocolatey heaven. Given the current situation (hello lockdown, our old friend), we thought about turning our hand to baking, but then we thought there’s nothing worse than a bad brownie. With the weather turning and the cable knit jumpers getting another yearly airing, there’s never been a better time to stock up on the sweet treats – and we know just the company.

EK Bakery known a thing or two about producing the perfect brownie. Spearheaded by Elizabeth Kerr, the independent bakery is known for their letterbox brownies – thick, fudgey, and chewy, they are ultra-moist without feeling heavy and underbaked.

There’s a number of brownies to choose from, like the peanut butter brownies featuring swirls of Mani Life crunchy peanut butter and toasted peanuts; triple chocolate brownies crammed full with chunks of Pump Street Grenada 70% Dark, Ecuador 60% Dark Milk and Ecuador 44% White chocolate; and salted caramel and pecan brownies.

You can, of course, create your own bespoke brownies and pick up to three different flavours, and if you’re a plant-based queen, there’s also vegan brownies made with olive oil and Guittard dark chocolate for maximum flavour and texture, and a gluten-free option.

We can’t bang on about EK Bakery’s epic chocolate creations and not talk about their seasonal flavours. The S’mores Brownies are something else; a seasonal special for autumn, the fudgy brownies are studded with chunks of dark milk Pump Street chocolate and Graham crackers, topped with house-made toasted marshmallow.

You can’t not enjoy the unapologetic deliciousness of EK Bakery’s brownies.
