3 Times Pixel Dishes Had Our Mouths WateringBy Angelica Malin
Food is so powerful that just the sight of it can put people into a state of pure joy. Without the help of its all-powerful odour, we might think that food loses much of its potency, but we’d be dead wrong. Although it’s much more fun to eat food than to simply look at it, we wanted to take a moment to sit back and appreciate some culinary creations that we would never be able to eat.
In this article, we’ll be strictly looking at food that has appeared in entertainment media. Here are our top three most delectable dishes known to viewers the world over.
Fruit Stack Cash Machine
There’s something so simple, yet so satisfying about a bunch of brightly-coloured fruit. Since the days of Pac-Man, we’ve been striving to collect those vivid yellow, orange, and green fruits to get extra points, but there’s something candy-like about them that has us craving candy. Paddy Power online casino clearly agrees with the sentiment as Fruit Stack Cash Machine does a great job of capturing that same culinary creativity. However, this title takes it a step further as they have plums, watermelons, lemons, cherries, and more rendered in high detail. While their other titles offer the same high saturation colours such as in games like Wild Wild Riches, Big Bass Splash, and Reelin’ Hot Hot Hot, the fruit on display in Fruit Stack Cash Machine almost makes you want to go to the nearest grocery store and pick up a cart full of fruit.
Howl’s Moving Castle
If Studio Ghibli has been known for anything, it’s being able to bring the fantastic to life on the big screen. Food is no exception to this rule, and although many focus on the magic or romance in the movie, Howl’s Moving Castle does a great job of bringing its savoury breakfast food to life. You can almost smell the thick slices of bacon as they sizzle on the stove.
Their food is so beloved that the studio has even displayed it in their famous Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Japan. The life of movie food stylists is a difficult one according to Insider, so we think it’s worth them showing off their work.
Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle
It’s simple, but it’s hard to beat a table full of sliders when it comes to looking delicious. This also comes as the climax of the zany movie that revolves around two friends desperately wanting to get their hands on the White Castle feast. We’d say the payoff was more than worth the wait. We just hope the wait will also be worth it for Harold & Kumar 4 if it ever comes out. According to Kal Penn in an interview with Screen Rant, the duo would love another shot at the series.
The only downside to all of these incredible scenes and games is how hungry they make us. You’ll have to excuse us while we grab a bite to eat.
