Christmas Cocktails can be a tricky beast, so our friends over at The Shrub & Shutter wanted to share a few of their latest festive creations. They all use Whitley Neill Gin for their base, so make sure you have a bottle handy. If you’re looking to impress your dinner guests, here’s 3 unusual tipples to make this Christmas:
#1 Christmas Tree Surgeon
Ingredients:Â
50ml Whitley Neill Gin 10ml Belsazar Dry vermouth 5ml pine infused sugar 5ml Christmas Tree Bitters (made with balkan 88% vodka, pine, salt, pepper, sugar & Whitley Neill Gin) 1 spray of atomised yellow chartreuse ÂMethod:
Stir on ice into a frozen nick and nora coupe. Served with spiked reindeer carpaccio.
#2 The Three Wise Men
Ingredients:
245ml hay infused Whitley Neill Gin 245ml frankincense infused campari 245ml myrrh infused byrrh frankincense incense 15ml strawberry bitters stocking-filler laces ÂMethod:
Build ingredients into stackable bottles and a timeless rocks glass, garnish with strawberry lace-wrapped orange zest and serve on a bed of hay like the baby jesus. Share between three.
#3 Retro Christmas Starter: ‘Prawn Cocktail’
Ingredients:
100ml Whitley Neill Gin 10 blowtorched cherry tomatoes 25ml crayfish shrub 50ml lemon juice heavy pinches of salt and pepper 100ml tomato consomme 5ml shrub and shutter Worcestershire sauce 3 drops scotch bonnet bittersMethod:
Build over cubed ice and garnish with some shell off prawns, blowtorched tomatoes & iceberg lettuce.
