1. For a Fruity Egg: Divine

What: Divine Raspberry Dark Chocolate Egg (£5)

The Lowdown: All Divine Chocolate uses high quality ingredients including Fairtrade cocoa beans grown with pride by the farmers of Kuapa Kokoo, a co-operative of over 85,000 cocoa farmers in Ghana who own 44% of the Divine company and share in the profits they help to create. This luxurious vegan friendly premium quality egg is made from thick, smooth and rich 70% cocoa chocolate and features a burst of raspberry flavour in the actual shell.

2. For a Boozy Egg: Booja-Booja

What: Booja Booja Fine De Champagne Easter Egg (£10.85)

The Lowdown: All of Booja-Booja’s recipes include as little ingredients as possible. All of their products are gluten, soy and dairy free. From ice creams to their new easter eggs  – they’ve got vegans covered. The Champagne Easter egg features melt-in-the-mouth chocolate truffles, with organic French Fine de Champagne (which has earned them a mantlepiece full of awards). Every handmade Easter egg has been handpainted by a community of artists in Kashmir, India.

3. For a Toffee Egg: Moo-Free

What: Moo Free Bunnycomb Easter Egg (£4.99)

The Lowdown: The egg is made from Moo Free’s award winning, organic and dairy free chocolate recipe. The shell has then been infused with crunchy pieces of vegan friendly and gluten-free honeycomb toffee. It’s delicious. The Easter eggs are also gluten, lactose and casein-free . There’s plenty more of other vegan friendly eggs in the range, include an orange Easter egg, the classic chocolate egg, and chocolate drops.

4. For Mini Eggs: Cocoa Loco

What: Dark Chocolate Easter Mini Eggs (£5.99)

The Lowdown: Cocoa Loco live, breathe, dream and sleep chocolate but it has to be Fairtrade and organic. Alongside their regular Easter egg line, the chocolate team haven’t forgotten about all the vegan queens. The 12 handmade rich, oh-so-solid 73% dark chocolate mini eggs are perfect for sharing (or hiding and enjoying in your ‘me time’ moments). Too good to have just one.

5. For a Nutty Egg: The Chocolate Tree

What: Dark Chocolate Easter Egg (£6)

The Lowdown: The Chocolate Tree is on a mission: a mission to create fine flavour chocolate whilst protecting biodiversity and rewarding farmers with a true premium for their crops of heritage cacao varieties. All of their cacao is purchased from farms in Peru, Colombia, Venezuela and Madagascar. The dark chocolate Easter egg is made is collaboration with the Chililique farmers of North Peru, and features chocolate covered hazelnuts. And there’s also a dairy-free Easter bunny too.

6. For Raw Chocolate Eggs: g.org.e

What: 3 Raw Chocolate Easter Eggs (£13.49)

The Lowdown: g.org.e raw chocolate eggs are made using a raw cacao chocolate mixture, sweetened only with the natural fruit sugars from dates and raisins, and blended with fragrant organic almonds for a rich, intense and chocolate hit. Each bag contains three eggs, made from with thick, rich g.org.e chocolate with a different flavoured centre: chocolate truffle egg – with a centre of indulgent chocolate truffle; strawberry and white chocolate with raw cacao solid and organic strawberries are blended to create this tangy fruit centre; and Brazil nut – a whole Brazil nut is nestled in each half.

7. For an Easter Bunny: Brontie & Co 

What: Solid Chocolate Bunnies (£4.95)

The Lowdown: Brontie & Co make all of their chocolate by hand from scratch in West Sussex, England. The team source ethically grown, organic, fair-trade cacao and blend it with organic coconut milk to produce a beautifully smooth vegan milk chocolate. The solid chocolate bunnies are made with 60% pure organic Peruvian Criollo cacao, with no refined sugar, and are sweetened with carob, apple and grape syrup.

8. For a Classic Egg: Holland and Barrett

What: Good Life Dairy-Free Easter Egg (£3.99)

The Lowdown: Holland and Barrett’s vegan egg is one of the best on the high-street. The egg is suitable for vegan, coeliacs and those with a nut allergy.. The organic Fairtrade milky chocolate Easter egg  is made with cane sugar, cocoa butter and rice powder. Sometimes you can’t beat a classic egg.

9. For Mini Chicks: Cocoa Libre 

What: 10 Rice Milk Easter Chicks (£3.99)

The Lowdown: All of Cocoa Libre’s chocolate is made in an allergen-free facility in North Somerset. The milk chocolate chicks are made with rice milk which is sustainable, and makes the chocolate creamy and indistinguishable from conventional milk chocolate. The chicks are free from gluten, dairy, nuts and wheat, and suitable for vegans and coeliacs.

10. For a White Chocolate Egg: Choices

What: Dairy-Free White Chocolate Easter Egg & Buttons (£2.89)

The Lowdown: Choices’ white chocolate Easter egg is made with care in a dedicated free from facility, which in addition has no nuts on site or in the ingredients used. A combination of cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa solids and cocoa butter is used to make the egg – and there’s a packet of vegan friendly white chocolate buttons inside too. What a cracking egg.
