If you’re in need of some weekend brunch inspiration – you’ve come to the right place. Take a trip to Notting Hill for a Aussie inspired brunch at the Dayrooms Cafe, or catch the Overground to Hoxton for Morito Hackney Road’s epic Middle Eastern brunch. Time to eat:

1. For a New Sunday Menu: Bernardi’s

What: Marylebone restaurant Bernardi’s has announced the launch of ‘Summer Sundays’, a celebration of longer days and balmy nights, running weekly until September. Launching officially on Sunday (July 9th) with an all-day celebration, the first of the Summer Sundays will welcome a guest DJ to host a day of chilled out tracks, cocktails and food.

Eat and Drink: Each week will see Head Chef Sabrina Gidda serve her new weekend menu bringing together twists on classic brunch dishes such as gnocchi alla Romana; poached eggs and smoked salmon; and scrambled eggs with Cornish crab and parsley. Gidda will also serve her take on an Italian Sunday lunch with grilled rack of lamb served with peach and burrata salads, and Sicilian caponata and pine nuts; the perfect accompaniment to a lazy day with friends and family.

2. For a Classic Brunch: Juniper Tree 

What: Organic British kitchen Juniper Tree has just rolled out their new Saturday brunch menu. Head Chef Dave Rann (who has worked under gastronomic greats such as Gary Rhodes and Gordon Ramsay) has designed a menu full of classic brunch fare, championing seasonal British cooking.

Eat and Drink: There’s plenty of choice on the brunch menu. If you need some carbs, opt for the open club sandwich featuring iceburg lettuce, crème fraiche, roast chicken, streaky bacon, poached egg, olive oil and chives; or the Croque Monsieur, with a English twist featuring Cave-aged Wooky Hole cheddar, Rhug Estate ham and mornay sauce on white bread. If you’re a traditionalist, there’s eggs Benedict with either smoked salmon, honey-roast ham or avocado; mushrooms on sourdough toast, drizzled with truffle oil; and fresh seasonal fruits with yogurt and granola.

3. For a Brunch Event: The Marylebone

What: The Marylebone has teamed with lululemon and devoted yogini Kirsty Gallagher, for a series of exclusive events including a morning of inspiring yoga, followed by an organic breakfast.  The next yoga and brunch event will be taking place at 10am on Saturday (8th July).

Eat and Drink: The class will be led by internationally recognised yoga teacher Kirsty who will guide guests through a rejuvenating yet relaxing yoga sequence – the perfect way to start the weekend. Combining fluid, playful flows with meditation, Kirsty will help participants revitalise and connect with their bodies. A nutritious, organic breakfast will follow the session, including an acai bowl offering all the crucial antioxidants needed following a workout and the all-time breakfast favourite, avocado on toast with chilli flakes. There’s also protein balls, a selection of freshly cut fruits and smoothies.

4. For a Middle Eastern Brunch: Morito Hackney Road

What: Fancy a brunch with a Middle Eastern Twist? Morito Hackney Road serve a killer weekend brunch brimming with insanely delicious dishes that are a far cry from your standard avo on toast. Ditch the eggs Benny, and dive bread first into a selection of homemade dips and jams.

Eat and Drink: In true Morito style, the Moroccan breads, seasonal jams and granola, amongst other new dishes, are made daily in-house. Typical dishes from the menu include: homemade granola with cardamom, yoghurt, pomegranates and pistachios; Msemen (Moroccan bread) with fresh seasonal jam and butter, and Beghrir (Moroccan pancakes) with fresh sheep’s cheese and thyme honey. If eggs are your thing, there’s plenty of dishes to choose from; poached eggs, with spinach, chilli butter, seasoned yoghurt and crispy sage; traditional Turkish menemem eggs (with/without sujuk sausage) and Huevos rotos with sweet peppers, chorizo and smoked paprika. Wash it all down with one of Morito’s punchy Bloody Marys made with harissa.

5. For an Aussie Brunch: Dayrooms Cafe 

What: Established boutique brand The Dayrooms recently opened their latest venture The Dayrooms Cafe in Notting Hill. Inspired by Melbourne’s burgeoning brunch scene, The Dayrooms Cafe boasts a seasonally changing menu boasting the finest British produce. And if you haven’t been to sample their all-day brunch offering – you’re missing out.

Eat and Drink: Head Chef Andrei Anechitei has created a menu that lends itself to all day dining – ideal for any time of day. Dishes include: ​bagel royale​ with ​green hollandaise, poached eggs, flaked smoked salmon and beetroot purée on a freshly baked bagel; baja prawn corn tacos with slaw, avocado, pineapple salsa, lime creme fraiche and jalapeño sauce; ​and ​honeycomb hotcake​ topped with honeycomb, raspberry, crème fraiche and miso caramel.
